“Because I’m pregnant.”

“Okay, so if you weren’t pregnant, what would you do if he said he’d marry you tomorrow?” Addison asked.

The anxiety she’d been carrying around lifted. “You could have been a therapist, you’re that good.” Brit squeezed her sister’s hands. “I’d marry him tomorrow because I want to be his wife.”

“There you go,” Addison said. “That was easy.”

Brit smiled. “You are the best.”

They left the lounge, en route for the hotel restaurant. To Brit’s surprise, there was a sign on the closed double doors.

PRIVATE PARTY

Restaurant Closed For The Evening

Brit stopped short. “We can’t go in there.”

“Let’s just peek.” Addison opened the door, gestured for Brit.

“Did Rebel do this?” Brit asked.

“Only one way to find out,” Addison replied.

Brit entered the spacious dining room. Her heart jumped into her throat as her gaze swept over the room.

Everyone she knew and loved was there. Some of the tables near the entrance had been cleared away and people were chatting in small groups.

Whoa, it’s a party.

When Rebel’s gaze found hers, his smile made her heart skip a beat. He, and the man he’d been talking to, made their way over.

He kissed Brit hello. “Hey, baby, how was your goodbye?”

“It was good,” Brit replied. “Hi,” she said to the man beside Rebel. “I’m Britain.”

“Carrera.” He flashed a smile. “Ladies, it’s a pleasure.”

“How do you guys know each other?” Addison asked.

“Carrera and I go back a ways,” Rebel replied.

“A long ways,” Carrera added.

Hawk joined them, kissed his wife. “How was it, babe?”

“I got closure,” Addison replied.

“Good to see you, brother,” Hawk said to Carrera.

“Same.” Carrera’s phone rang. “Carrera,” he answered.

“This party is definitely a surprise,” Brit said.

“For you, babe,” Rebel said.

“I’m on my way.” Carrera hung up. “Sorry, but I gotta bolt.”

“It was good catchin’ up,” Rebel said, pulling him in for a hug.
