“Will I see you when I’m there?” Jilly asked.
“Probably not,” he replied. “I have another job that takes up most of my time.”
“Do you two work together at thatotherjob?” Jilly asked Slash and Carrera.
“Indirectly,” Carrera replied.
“Working at Blue Suit was a means to an end, but ever since Karen started, it’s been awful,” Jilly said. “I want to thank all of you for turning a bad day into one filled with love.”
“I hope you’ll come back,” Elsa said.
“I’d love to,” Jilly replied.
Carrera’s phone buzzed with an incoming text. “Gracie says, ‘Can’t wait to talk to her,’” he read out loud.
Carrera flashed her a smile, and her heart leapt.
“Thank you,” she said to him.
Despite the loss she’d endured, and the challenges she’d faced along the way, she was where she was supposed to be, with the people she was supposed to be with.
And she couldn’t be more grateful.
