THE WEDDING, FINALLY!

Carrera

Saturday late afternoon, Carrera pulled up to Hotel Dillinger, handed the valet a folded bill, and made his way around the SUV as Slash got out.

Cooper and Danielle’s wedding was finally here. He couldn’t be happier for them, couldn’t wait to kick back and relax for a few hours with his woman… and his friends.

With their wedding clothing in garment bags, they made their way inside and upstairs to the suites. He walked her to the bridal suite and kissed her goodbye as Rebel and Brit turned the corner.

“You two are too cute,” Brit said.

“Hey,” Slash said.

“Did you make the arrest?” Brit asked.

Slash smiled. “Yes, and it felt great.”

“How’d she do?”

“Blabbed nonstop,” Slash replied.

“Congratulations,” Rebel said. “You must be relieved.”

“Yes, to the arson and prostitution, but no to the missing women,” Slash said. “Alexandra Wilde’s news story airs on Monday. I’m hoping we get some legit leads.”

Rebel kissed his wife before the women vanished inside the suite.

As Carrera and Rebel entered the groomsmen suite, Rebel asked, “How’s your new job?”

Carrera hung his garment bag on the rack. “Going great. I’ve already managed to piss someone off.”

“I’m sure you’ve pissed off a lot of people, you level-jumper you.”

Carrera laughed.

Cooper and Stryker were chilling on the horseshoe-shaped sofa in the suite’s living room. The men rose, everyone hugged it out.

“Congratulations, Coop,” Carrera said. “You had a record-long engagement.”

Cooper laughed. “I’ve been ready to marry Danielle for years, but life got in the way. Thanks to this guy”—he squeezed Rebel’s shoulder— “everything here is first class.”

“Thank you, brother,” Rebel said.

“I heard you and Slash finally kissed and made up,” Stryker said.

The guys laughed.

“I’m a lucky guy,” Carrera said. “Stryker, you saved us with the video surveillance.”

“How’d that go?”

Hawk, Prescott, and Jericho walked in.

“Karen Woodside got arrested,” Carrera said.

“Again?” Hawk asked.
