“We’re putting the babies in the stroller and we’re going for a run,” he said. “I’ll get your bag.”

He went outside, pulled her duffle, returned to the house.

She stood in the family room, her hands on her hips, daggers shooting from her eyes. “I’m not doinganythingwith you. I can’t effin’ stand you.”

The sexual tension had turned him into a beast. Unable to stop himself, he stormed over, snaked his arms around her, and kissed her, fully expecting to get kneed in the groin.

A risk he was willing to take.

Instead, she groaned into him, sandwiched her body against his, and kissed him back. She pushed her tongue into his mouth and thrust it against his while she started grinding on him. He firmed, and was racing toward a steel boner when she fisted his hair and tugged. Then, she ran her hand down his groin and cupped his erection, beneath his shorts.

He held her close, ran his hands across her beautiful back, desperate to strip her naked and drive himself inside her.

She broke away, panting. Her electric gaze boring into his. “Happy?”

“I’m moving in that direction.”

“Good, ‘cause you got something those losers didn’t. Now, you’re one step ahead of ‘em.”

“Whoa, what is your problem?”

She got in his face and stared up at him. “Myproblem? You, for starters. You’re my problem. I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing, but it’s not cool, Carrera. Not cool. You dumped me after youblamedme, and then you acted like a total dick. We haven’t talked in years, but when we do, we’re spitting fire. Ever since you got back, you’ve been following me around. Also, not cool. Then, the other night, you were about to kiss me?—”

“You stared at my mouth.”

Her eyebrows crowded her forehead. “I stared at your mouth? So what? If I’d stared at your dick, would that mean it’s go-time?”

He smiled, shrugged. “I don’t know. Would it?”

She glanced at the clock on the wall. “I’ve got to feed the babies. Brit said they like a snack around now. Since you’re here, and you’re clearly interested in doingsomething, you can help me.”

First, Slash cleaned Willow’s hands, then she cleaned Clark’s. He loved how gentle she was with them. One minute, she was grinding on him, then she’s chewing him out. Now, she was smiling and telling them a story about some puppy named Kevin.

After she put Willow in her highchair, she said to him, “Do what I do.”

He put Clark in his highchair.

“How old are they?” Carrera asked.

“Nine months.”

He heard the garage door rise as Slash opened the fridge. She pulled out three containers, set them on the counter, and placed their contents on two plastic toddler dishes. With two spoons in hand, she pulled up a chair and started feeding Clark.

“Here’s a spoon,” she said. “Feed Willow.”

A moment later, Rebel and Brit walked in.

“Hey, look who’s here!” Rebel said.

After the men hugged it out, Carrera hugged Brit. “The babies are adorable.”

The little ones saw their parents and started grinning. Clark raised his arms toward them, and Brit kissed both children.

“Thank you so much, Slash,” Brit said. “I’m sorry we left you.”

“You had a helper,” Rebel said.

“Not exactly,” Slash bit out. “Are your parents okay?”
