He drove to a shopping center in Arlington, parked. She glanced at the store fronts, her gaze stilling on the grocery store. “Do you need condoms?”
“No.” He flashed her a devilish smile. “C’mon.” He got out.
She pushed open the SUV door. He clasped her hand and they walked toward a boutique at the end of the shopping center.
Discreet Indiscretions
“I think we’re gonna find what we need here.” He opened the door. She paused to kiss him and he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her flush against him, and kissed her so damn good, her legs felt like jelly.
She walked inside.
The boutique was filled with racks of ladies’ clothing. He took her hand, led her to the back where several shelves held stacks of sex toys, their discreet boxes revealing little.
A saleswoman approached. “What can I help you find?”
Caroline glanced at Grey, then at the woman. “I’d like a butt plug.”
“For you or both?” she asked.
“Just me,” Caroline replied as the pulsing between her legs grew stronger. She’d never owned anything beyond a few vibrators.
More than the toys, she loved that he’d remembered, loved that he wanted to do this for her.
“Have you done anal play?” she asked.
“No,” they both replied.
The clerk selected a box and pulled out a decent-sized plug wrapped in clear cellophane. “These aren’t returnable, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know that it’s better to start off right than try to be an over-achiever.”
Caroline and Grey laughed.
The woman pulled a small plastic bottle of lube. “Clean yourself first,” she said to Caroline. “You can use a water-based lube for the plug because it’s silicone, but if you move on to anal play with him—” she pulled a different lube and handed it to Grey—“you’ll want this.”
“This is perfect,” Caroline said.
“Take your time and look around.”
Grey walked over to the one of the clothing racks. After spending a moment sorting through, he pulled out a brightblue top with peak-a-boo shoulders and held it up for her. “Yes?”
She walked over, examined the shirt. “It’s pretty.”
“We’re not gonna have time to head to your place, so pick something for dinner.”
Caroline’s heart blossomed. This was a side of Grey she’d never seen… and she loved it. She paired the blue shirt with a pair of jeans.
At the sales counter, the clerk asked, “What’s the occasion?”
“I’m meeting his family.”
The employee walked over to a different rack, pulled a black jumpsuit. “This would look beautiful on you. It’s more upscale without going overboard.”
“This is great,” Caroline said.
“We’ll take everything,” he said.
The clerk smiled. “He’s a keeper.”
At the counter, Caroline pulled out her credit card. Greystone took it, handed the clerk his, and offered Caroline’s back to her. “Happy belated birthday, Bella.”
