“Are you leaving?” I ask.

“Do you want me to?”

“Honestly? No.”

He smiles and holds up his phone, his jeans falling back to the floor. “Just making sure my alarm is set.”

I should do the same, but… something in me just doesn’t care.

Chapter Six

Leif

The morning sun shines through the large windows, basking Aliko in its bright, golden rays. He’s sleeping soundly beside me, looking completely at ease.

I hadn’t realized how tense he always is until I saw him last night, relaxed and letting go. When he’s behind a drum set, he’s confident, but there’s something in his shoulders that tells me he’s stressed or worried about something. Last night, though, after our drinks, and more so after the sex, he was completely at ease.

Aliko is so unashamedly himself, yet usually it feels cautious. Like he wants to be himself, but he’s worried that it’s wrong or that he’s not doing things right.

I guess that makes sense if he isn’t used to being human. I didn’t get much of his story, and I wasn’t lying when I said I don’t read the articles. Of course, I’ve heard things over the last few weeks about him and the others, but I never fully pay attention. People talk. They always have a lot to say, and most of it isn’t true. I never really thought about what it would be like to grow up in the ocean. It’s not like growing up in another state or another country. It’s like an entirely different world. For some reason, that hadn’t crossed my mind about him before. I’d just assumed he was like all the other monsters in that aspect, but he’s very, verydifferent. I should have known. Because, of course, Aliko is different. It’s why I’m so drawn to him. Why I… like him so much. Last night didn’t help that at all… my crush is only getting worse.

Knowing what I know about him now, having that realization and understanding that Aliko is truly new to this world, he doesn’t have to explain to me that he doesn’t understand things anymore. We won’t have to have those awkward little moments where he’s unsure and I’m trying to figure out why. Now that I know, I want to make him comfortable. I want him to be confident in his choices in this world, on the land.

He was amazed by my piercings. In awe of my tattoos. He’d never had sex before. None of that stopped him, though. None of that made him scared. I saw it in his eyes. He wanted me. He wanted everything that we didandmore. Aliko may be hesitant, but he is eager to experience life up here—the things he doesn’t have in the ocean.

He doesn’t know much about this world, but he wants to learn. And there’s something about how naïve and sweet he is, mixed with his badass rock star persona, that doesn’t quite make sense. But it fills me with so much fucking excitement, anyway. Aliko wants to understand this world, and I’m going to make sure he knows he’s doing a good job… that he’s doing all the right things.

Because to him… he’s not. He’s disobeying his family. Going against everything they stand for. And maybe that’s why he feels more comfortable as a human. Maybe it’s easier to pretend that way. I just hope he knows that I’ll accept him any way he chooses to be. That just feels a little too deep to announce right now. I don’t want him thinking I’m obsessed. I don’t want to risk my job by making him uncomfortable. Because I need this job—and not only that, but I want it. I love what I do, and I shouldn’t risk it over sex. But last night… he was really hard to resist. And if we can both be adults about this, then there won’t be a problem. There’s no reason we can’t hook up and still do our jobs, functioning the way we should.Ifhe wants to do it again, that is.

My bladder doesn’t care that I don’t want to get out of this warm, comfortable bed with Aliko, no thanks to all the alcohol we drank last night. I carefully throw the blankets off and get up to use the bathroom. When I return, Aliko is sitting on the edge, rubbing his eyes. Of course, looking hot as hell, completely naked under the morning sun.

“I thought you’d left,” he says, gaze flicking up to me.

I gesture to my clothes on the floor. “Everything is still there.”

He looks down and smiles. “Didn’t think of that.” His gaze returns to me. “Come here.”

I walk toward him and stop a few inches away. His hand gently slides from my thigh up to my hip before he leans in and kisses the spot above my cock—making it twitch.

“This okay?” he asks, his eyes flicking up to meet mine.

“Yes,” I say breathlessly.

He does it again, his other hand coming up to hold me tight. My head falls back on my shoulders, and I let him do his thing. I let him explore me with his mouth. Kisses across my stomach, along my ribs. He flicks his tongue against my nipple rings. Ittakes seconds before my dick is hard. He runs his cheek across it, then nuzzles his nose above it, in the hair, like some wild animal.

“Can I taste you?” he asks as his hands run along my skin like he just can’t stop touching me.

“Yes,” I answer again.

I hadn’t anticipated another round before we parted ways this morning, but I guess I’m lucky. I can’t remember what’s on the schedule for the day, other than the same stuff we need to do to set up for the show tonight, but I always report at the same time. My alarm hasn’t gone off yet, so we havesometime to fool around. How much is a mystery, though. Will my alarm go off in thirty minutes or thirty seconds?

Aliko opens his mouth and takes me in, running his tongue along the underside, pressing against each barbell. He’s really interested in my piercings and I don’t hate it.

He goes slow, licking and testing how deep he can take me. It’s not the best blow job I’ve ever gotten, but something about him taking his time, learning, is hot as hell. This doesn’t feel like it’s about getting off, it feels more intimate than that and I don’t know why.

Aliko is using me to learn about sex, and I didn’t think that was a kink of mine, but you learn something new every day.

“Is this okay?” he asks.
