I didn’t feel awkward. I thought their teasing was endearing.

Kaira caught Bouchra’s attention. “We won’t. It’s none of our business, remember?”

“I’m away.” Rona walked off.

We all followed. I glanced back at the end of the jetty, thrilled at what had just happened.

Vicky and Mathilde were still sitting at the shore end of the jetty, chatting, by the time we made it back.

“The adventurers return,” Vicky said.

“Did you enjoy it?” Mathilde asked.

I caught Rona’s eyes for a second and smiled.

She looked away, and then back at me, trying to conceal her smile.

Vicky surveyed the four of us. “Well, something went down.”

“How about that taxi.” Kaira whipped her phone out.

In the end we just walked back, given how late it was. Rona and I walked together behind everyone else. Kaira and Bouchra were true to their word and left us to it.

There was a loaded silence. The longer it went on, the more intense I felt. I could still taste her mouth on my lips. I could still hear the little moans and gasps she made. I could still feel her breasts in my hands, as if we were still back on that boat. It was like our kissing hadn’t stopped. Or maybe that was because it was playing on repeat in my head and on my hands.

Back at the villa, we all stayed up for another drink, since it was the last night. No one was being hugely talkative though.

“Well, what can I say. It’s the end of an amazing week, girls,” Vicky said, breaking a period of calm silence. “It’s been a special one. Won’t forget it.” She seemed emotional.

“I better get this one to bed,” Mathilde said, standing. She took her girlfriend’s hand. “Come on, let’s go.”

They drifted off toward their bedroom. Kaira and Bouchra went to bed not long after that. Thankfully neitherof them brought it up again, except for a loaded ‘sweet dreams’ from Bouchra as she wished us both goodnight.

“Nell’s still out, then.” Rona’s voice was quiet.

“Yeah. Means we have more space to ourselves.” I couldn’t help but flirt with Rona. It was my new favourite thing in the world.

Rona nodded, slowly, as if gauging something. I wished so badly I could hear what she was thinking.

“I’m going to take a shower,” Rona said, after a moment.

I wanted to ask if I could join her but didn’t. Kissing someone didn’t automatically mean they wanted to have full sex with you right away. In some ways her restraint was making this even hotter.

“I’ll go after you,” was all that came out of me.

We walked upstairs together, the steps creaking beneath us, piercing the quiet of the house. We said goodnight to each other outside our bedroom doors.

I waited on my bed listening to Rona in the shower, wanting her.

She knocked at my door once she came out. I grabbed my towel and toiletry bag and met her at the door. She was wrapped in a towel and her hair was wet.

“Can I use the hairdryer in your room while you’re in the bathroom?”

“Of course you can.” She had been doing this every now and again, so it wasn’t unusual to ask.

She went into my room with nothing on but her towel. That was new.

My heart thumped.
