His gaze dropped.
“I don’t want my station held like a museum.”
“It isn’t.”
“No dusty tools waiting for a dead man.”
The words cut.
“You are not dead.”
“I know.”
“Your station is active. You use it.”
“Two hours.”
“Then it is a two-hour station.”
His mouth moved faintly.
“You make everything sound simple.”
“Simple is not easy.”

He leaned down and kissed my forehead.
