I don’t remember being this tired when I was pregnant with Zeke, but a lot has happened this week. I blame it on the trauma. If I can just sleep through it, I’ll be fine.

So far, there haven’t been as many nightmares as I’d have expected. I had worse trouble sleeping after Santino broke into our home.

Luca’s strong hand splays across my abdomen.

We still don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl yet. I want to wait until the birth, but I haven’t discussed it with Luca yet.

There’s still time.

Plenty of time until that happens.

Lucas pressed up tight against me, and I can feel his excitement poking me. I chuckle softly and roll over to face him. “You are excited,” I murmur with a smile against my lips. My fingers slide down his hip, and he pulls me closer, tighter.

“Did you hear who stopped by?”

I shake my head against the pillow. “We had a guest? You should have woken me. Who was it?”

“Bristol’s father.”

The curiosity dies on my lips. “Oh.” That doesn’t seem nearly as exciting. I thought when he asked, it might have been my parents or his parents. I don’t know much about Bristol’s family, and I roll onto my back, tangling my legs with Luca’s, pulling him above me. “What did he want?”

“You don’t know who Bristol’s father is?”

I stare up at Luca, who is smiling brightly, his eyes shining down on me, and for the first time in days, that gloominess has vanished.

“No,” I whisper, staring up at him. “Am I supposed to?”

“Bristol Greyson,” he says and stares at me, waiting for me to connect the dots.

My eyes widen, remembering a conversation I had that feels a lifetime ago about a certain Kyler Greyson. “Her father, the owner of the Ice Dragons, showed up here? Did you get his autograph?”

Luca smiles and laughs, kissing my nose and down my jaw. “As much as I would have loved to have asked him to sign something for me, that would have seemed really inappropriate.”

“Why? Did he come here to yell at Bristol for staying over?” I quip.

She is supposed to be attending Great Falls, at least for a few more weeks until she transfers here.

Luca shakes his head, staring down at me, grinning. “He did invite her and Liam to Thanksgiving dinner, which may have been why he dropped by, or it might have been another reason.”

He shifts slightly and puts just the right delicious amount of pressure between my thighs, that I tip my head back, arching into him.

“Are you just going to tease me?” I ask, breathy, my body warm and tingly.

His hands skim over my hips, his fingers slipping into the waistband of my bottoms, grazing my stomach, my hips, his touch featherlight and setting my body ablaze.

“He invited us to dinner.”

“Oh?” My mind is in a fog. “Thanksgiving?” I rasp, trying to concentrate, yet failing miserably. Won’t his parents be upset, or mine, if we go to Thanksgiving dinner with the Greysons?

I lift his shirt, and he raises his arms, letting me remove it, tossing it across the room to the floor.

His body is glorious. My fingers slide down his chest, touching his muscles.

Fuck. How did I get so lucky?

Luca merely shakes his head. “Not Thanksgiving.”

Is this a guessing game?
