“What…” I laugh and shake my head, but he catches my chin.

“What is it, little doe?”

I huff a humorless laugh. “You’re a werewolf. I’m a changeling. He’s a fucking god. What the fuck is going on?”

I might’ve mistaken Vulf’s smile for a snarl if I wasn’t staring directly into his mesmerizing eyes. I was wrong before. Vulf isn’t devoid of humanity in this form. Those deep, swirling pools of gray-blue, full of concern and empathy and, strangely, whatever emotion he’d worn when sharing a post-orgasm haze with his partner.

But that can’t be.

“Yes, I’m a wolf. And you” —he strokes my cheek with the velvety pad of his thumb— “are a miracle.”

My breath catches in my throat. “Why does it feel like I’ve known you for years?”

“I feel it too.”

Vulf’s purr envelopes me like one of those weighted blankets, humming from somewhere deep in my bloodstream. I press my ear against his chest—when had we closed the space between us?—and let it fill me.

“Terra.”

He says my name like it’s covered in sugar, and I look up, immediately swept away by the ocean in his eyes. I want to dive in and swim around for a while. Take off my clothes and skinny dip under the full moon.

His purr falters in favor of a deep, masculine moan when I reach out and scratch behind his ear. I bite my lip, and he gifts me with another, deeper moan.

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a nice, rumbly man moan.

My pussy clenches, and I swear his massive nostrils twitch. His head falls forward, hot breath teasing my shoulder. The lavender satin twitches in his lap.

“You smell so good. Perhaps you shouldn’t touch me, unless. . .”

I adjust, and he sits straighter. There’s a sheepishness in his expression that contradicts his beastly appearance. I know I’m walking a thin line, but mere minutes ago, I thought I was a literal sex demon. I choose to show myself some grace.

With a pointed look, I glance between him and the growing tent in the satin, trailing my fingertips down tantalizing ridge after ridge of his abdomen, hovering at the hem.

A massive tongue flicks up to lick his nose. He nods curtly.

I lift the hem and my heart trips, then tosses herself straight down a waterfall to splash in my pussy.

I’m no stranger to sex. I like kinky shit. I’ve experimented with toys that would make some people gasp. And sure, I saw it a few hours ago, but it was half-buried in another man’s mouth, and I was in shock.

This time, I’m fully aware, and it’s still a lot to comprehend, but what stumps me the most is the smell. Trying not to be weird, I take a deep breath in through my nose. My exhale trembles, my eyes flutter closed. So I hadn’t imagined it.

I peer at Vulf through my lashes. “Unless?”

He whimpers.

“Unless,” Azuran’s voice is full of mirth as he strides through the door, “you want a tall glass of the rarest seed in Eldrunna.”

Chapter Seven

Azuran

The scent reaches me before I cross the threshold. I’d taken my time getting the refreshments. Vulf is better at the emotional bits, always softening my crystal-sharp edges. He makes me a better person, so much so that I often forget what life was like without him.

It’d been a cold, lonely experience, though at the time I’d considered myself happy. Content. How wrong I’d been. As a godchild with the magic of the sky, I’d been so stuck in my ways, nothing like the adaptable winds I claimed to conquer. It was Vulf, my thunder, my mate, who taught me to embrace the storm.

Balancing a tray of fruit and cheese, a bottle of wine under one arm and whiskey under the other, I return to find my mates breathing heavily. The whole room is perfumed with sweetwaterand wildflowers, and fuck, I could frolic in the meadow of their combined pleasure for eons.

Their conversation catches up to my senses, and I decide it’s time to make my presence known, if only to hurry along the imminent joining that fate is so clearly in favor of.
