“Do you remember Cecilia’s vows during her wedding?” she asks quietly.

I chuckle. “If I’m being honest, my focus wasn’t really on them during the ceremony.”

Her cheeks take on a pink hue when she understands what I’m implying. “She vowed to fall in love with Silas every day.” She smiles, looking down at her hands. “I didn’t understand what she meant by that. In my mind, once you were in love that was it. You couldn’t keep falling in love with the same person, since you already were.”

Her eyes come back up to mine. “But now I do. Because no matter how much I already love you, it feels like I’m falling in love with you all over again, just a little more each day.”

There’s nothing to say to that, no words I could possibly say that would equal what I feel right now for this extraordinary woman. So instead, with my heart in my throat, I fuse my lips to hers.

She’s everything I could have ever dreamed of. Even if it took four years for our story to begin, four years of watching her at a distance, four years of longing for something I thought I’d never have.

I’d do it all over again if it meant living this moment with her right now.

My phone pings, ruining the moment as our kiss deepens, clearly leading to something more. I groan, wanting to ignore it, but then Aubrey’s stomach growls and she turns bright red.

“Let me get that pizza, then we’ll eat and get back to this.” I peck her lips and hurry off the bed and into the house with my phone.

Five minutes later, I return with the three boxes of pizza, setting them down on the bed as Aubrey sits up. It’s then I notice we now have a companion with us. Cupcake. She’s always after Aubrey, certainly when I leave her alone. She’ll be a great guard dog around my wife and child. The other four, I’m still not sure.

“Please tell me you didn’t get an extra pizza for the dogs?” She watches me open all three of them.

“No, I didn’t. But now that you mention it, I probably should have. Right, pups?” I look down at where they whine from the floor, waiting for a bite of the delicious greasy food.

I pick up one slice of meat lovers and begin to rip it up into little pieces, handing them each one. As I go to give one to Cupcake, I spot Aubrey passing her a piece of bacon from her slice.

I gasp in faux shock. “I thought we weren’t feeding them table food!?”

Aubrey laughs as she blushes. “I can’t help it! Look at her, she’s so calm and perfect. She deserves some bacon.”

I laugh, shake my head, and kiss Aubrey’s forehead. After we’ve eaten pizza and snacks to our heart’s content, we settle back down against the pillows to continue watching the moviepeacefully. “I love this movie. It reminds me of us,” Aubrey says after a while.

“It does?” I try to think back on the parts of the movie I actually watched. But the truth is, my eyes have been on my Angel most of the way through it.

She nods. “Unexpected love. Impossible love. A love that shouldn’t be happening, yet they can’t stop it and defeat the odds to be together, despite all the obstacles in the way.” She sits up on the bed facing me and looks deep into my eyes as hers shine with emotions. “I’m happy we fought to be together, Shane. I’m happy you’re mine.”

I cradle her cheek, pulling her in. “I’ve always been yours, Aubrey.”

We kiss, resuming to the moment we had earlier as her hands glide up my covered chest and she begins to unbutton my dress shirt. I let her explore me with her hands like she does every time she removes my shirt, then she moves to my shorts, leaving me in only my boxers.

Reaching for her dress, I slide it over her hips and baby bump, then higher over her head, and toss it to the side where my clothes now lay. I unhook her bra, baring her beautiful breasts to me, and when she lies back against the pillows, I slowly trail her panties down her legs, leaving her fully exposed. The most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen.

I lean over her, kissing her lips then her neck. I trace my tongue across her collarbone, down the slope of her breast, grazing her nipple with my teeth before twirling my tongue around the hard peak and lightly sucking on it.

Her back arches as she lets out a breathy moan, hands fisting the sheets beneath her. A bit of colostrum leaks out of her tip and onto my tongue. I remember the first time that salty liquid hit my tastebuds, I was a little confused and Aubrey wasextremely embarrassed. She was even more embarrassed when I questioned Dr. Carlson about it, mainly if it was bad to ingest it.

Turns out it’s all natural and simply her breasts preparing to produce the real milk that our daughter will feed on. Although Dr. Carlson did advise me not to stimulate her breasts too much as it could lead to labor.

Bringing my mouth over to her other breast, I give it a little attention as well before moving lower down her rounded stomach. I pause there to kiss our daughter, unable to stop myself despite being in the middle of this intimate moment.

“Go to sleep, Little Star. Mommy and Daddy are going to have a bit of alone time now,” I whisper against her belly.

“Shane, please don’t talk to our daughter when we’re about to have sex. It makes it weird.” Aubrey giggles with a smile on her face.

“Sorry,” I say with a soft chuckle as I continue my way down, kissing over the pale stretch marks that she worries about but I love. They’re proof of what she’s been through for our daughter.

I spread her legs once I’ve reached the place I was aiming for, trailing my lips down the inside of her thighs. I then place a tender kiss on either side of her folds and right above her sensitive bud, where she’s now baby smooth, breathing cool air over it but never touching it.

Aubrey usually keeps a small triangular patch of hair on her mound, but the last time she got waxed two months ago, she claimed it was more painful than usual and wasn’t sure if she still wanted to do that. After a bit of research, we discovered that the increase in pain she was feeling was most likely due to the pregnancy. Since then, she’s been shaving herself bare, but now that her belly is huge and in the way, she’s afraid to do it herself.
