“No, nothing.”

“If you want me to stop, I’ll stop.”

“No, I want this. But…”

Orion came back up the bed and lay beside me. He kissed me softly, caressing my face. “I only want what you want. Have you ever…?”

“Yes,” I said. “Just notthat.”

He frowned. “I don’t know what kind of lowlife creeps you’ve been with, but it’s childish behavior to sleep with you and not worship you appropriately…” He kissed my mouth, my chin, working his way back down my body. His tongue teased my nipple. “I hope they at least appreciated these glorious tits.”

“Will you stop saying that?”

“Oh, pardon me.Breasts.Is that better?”

“Actually, no.”

He chuckled, moving down my torso to my navel. “You deserve this, Harper. Please allow me to give it to you.”

“Well, when you put it that way…”

He grinned, and I saw the white of his teeth, that brilliant smile, and then all thought flew out of my head as his mouth descended. I grabbed a pillow just in time, muffling the cry that tore out of my throat as a pleasure unlike anything I’d ever known shot through me.

Orion, my God…I arched into him, and he held me still, his mouth licking, sucking, even biting lightly until starbursts were shooting across the dark of my eyes. I writhed helplessly but he refused to let me go until he was finished with me. In no time at all, ribbons of pleasure rippled through me in waves, one after another, until finally, the biggest wave of them all crashed over me, leaving me spent, my legs shaking.

He climbed back up the bed and pulled the pillow away from my face. “You can come out now.”

“Holy shit,” I breathed.

“Ah, there’s that romance.” He kissed my shoulder, then he sat up and drank the cold tea by my bedside table and leaned against the headboard. “My work here is done.”

I rolled my eyes. “You’re too much.”

“So I’m told,” he said with that grin of his that drove me mad. That made me want do things to him…

I didn’t think I’d be able to move for days, but I put my underwear and sweatshirt back on, then used the restroom.

“Must you?” Orion asked, giving the sleeve of the sweatshirt a tug as I climbed back into bed. “Cruel of you to deny me a few of my favorite things.”

I rolled my eyes but took off the sweatshirt, pulled the covers up, and sat beside him against the headboard, curled against his arm.“You’re obsessed.”

“Can you blame me? These gorgeous, perfectly shaped pale orbs…”

“Oh my God, stop.” I groaned a laugh. “But so long as you don’t say ‘milky white.’ Ugh, I hate that word.”

“Milky?”

“Yuck, yes. Moist gets a bad rap, but I’ll take that over milky any day.”

“Fair,” Orion said. “I’m not a fan of caramel myself. I’ve heard that one too many times. I’m not a macchiato, for fuck’s sake.”

“No,” I said, letting my eyes wander over his profile in the dimness, and my fingers trailed up his strong forearm, forgetting myself. “You’re so much more than that. Gold and bronze, and warm and good…”

“You’re getting much better at this, Bennett.” He bent to kiss me softly on the lips.

I took his kiss, let it suffuse me with that warmth that was so him, and then settled back against him.

“I’m not used to…this. I never knew my dad, and my mother’s boyfriends were never role models of healthy relationships, to say the least. This new one, included.” I peered up at him. “What about you? Are your parents happy?”
