“Xavier, I—”
“I won’t allow it,” he growled again, and I felt his promise in my soul.
You deserve so much more than this, Zara. I won't let her take another fucking thing from you again. You are mine, my mate, and I’ll happily burn all the damn realms if it meant that you would survive.
Desire pulsed through me again, and I was pulling him down, our mouths crashing together again. I parted for him, my legs widening, and he started to move again inside me as our tongues brushed together. I sucked his tongue into my mouth greedily, and he growled at the pressure.
Something cold pressed to my sternum, and I pulled away from our kiss, my eyes landing on his fingers, which were now coated in ice. I raised a brow at him, but he only captured my mouth again as I felt his finger trail across my nipple. I gasped at the icy touch, my nipple hardening almost painfully as the stinging cold pressed to my flesh. Xavier trailed his finger lower between us, and I moaned as he reached between my thighs and circled my clit. My hips bucked, and I squirmed beneath him as his finger swirled around the bundle of nerves, the icy bite threatening to ruin me.
I moved my hand into his hair, but something circled around my wrists, and they were pulled over my head, binding tightly together. My eyes widened and he pulled away from our kiss, leaning up and bringing both my legs to his shoulders. His arms wrapped tightly around them and he smiled as he thrusted his hips. My eyes rolled to the back of my head, and he thrusted again, his fingers returning to my clit as the pressure between my thighs grew at an alarming rate. His eyes were fixed on my bobbing breasts, his movements quickening but then he pulled away.
“No,” I growled, and he grinned.
“I told you, I'm not even close to being down with you.”
The shadows around my wrists disappeared and I sat up glaring at him.
I could tell he was about to pounce, about to make his next move but he didn’t get to have all the control. Before Xavier could flip me onto my stomach, I held up a palm and stopped him.
“Stop.”
Xavier froze, concern entering his fiery gaze. I shook my head, leaning up on the bed, and getting into a kneeling position in front of him. “You don’t get to have all the fun,” I purred and my hands roamed down his front, his cock hard and still at attention between us. My palm grasped it, and his eyes closed briefly as he sighed out a grunting moan. I stroked him, and another growl, low and deep, escaped past his lips as he licked them. I knew I only had a moment, and I leaned down, my eyes holding his gaze as my tongue grazed his tip.
“Fuck,” he growled, and his hand went into my hair. My lips parted around the thick length and they wrapped around him, my tongue circling as I took him deeper and deeper untilhe hit the back of my throat. I moved again slowly, savoring the feel of him, the taste of him inside of me, sucking as I stroked my mouth along his shaft. My eyes lifted to his, and he was looking down at me with so much lust, so much promise of destruction, it nearly destroyed me.
He wrenched me back by my hair, pulling me off him with a sharp pop of my lips and his palm slid to my throat as he devoured me with his mouth. He spun me and my palms landed on the bed as his cock entered me again from behind. I screamed, crying out in pleasure as his hand went into my hair, pulling sharply. His other on my hip.
He was already losing control, his movements turning jerky as he cried out my name.
Xavier fell forward, his body caging mine, and I smiled as his gaze ensnared mine. The emerald in his eyes were still blazing, and I had a feeling we were in for a long night.
Chapter 28
Jaxon
Theo’s jaw was ticking, the muscles twitching as he stared at his sister.
We were the first to arrive, spread out in the study as we waited for the others. I was sitting at Xavier’s desk, a map of our kingdom laid out in front of me. I hadn’t spoken to my brother yet about what he had shown me, what the Fate had shown him.
A fucking Fate.
A shiver ran through me at the memory… of the ancient being wearing Soren’s face. The massive thrones, the vast void of twinkling stars. My eyes roamed over the territories, and I shook my head at how much blank space surrounded our kingdom. How many other kingdoms were out there?
A loud sigh sounded and my gaze sliced to Dedra again who was leaning against the study wall. Her arms were folded tightly across her chest and she looked like a mess. Her hair, which was usually braided and in a bun, lay down over her shoulders, the ends crinkled and fraying. The white tunic shewore was wrinkled and untucked. The laces of her boots were knotted haphazardly, and her usual barrage of weapons were missing, which was probably a good thing with how she was glaring toward Theo right now.
Aria leaned against the wall beside her, a book clasped in her hand. She paid no attention to anyone in the room, her gaze darting across the pages as she read. She hadn't even bothered to say hello, just wandered in and began reading.
My gaze was fixed on her, the memory of the other night warming my skin. My eyes drifted down to her thighs, and I recalled the sensation of them wrapped around me in her tent, the feel of her skin, her lips.
Something whizzed through the air, and I bolted upright from my seat. A dagger was lodged into the bookcase behind me, and I whipped my gaze back to Aria. She didn't even bother looking up from her book, but I saw the slight smile on her lips.
She just threw a fucking dagger at my face.
Dedra stared between us, eyes wide, and a muffled laugh escaped Theo. He coughed, trying to hide it and I shot him a glare. Theo stifled another laugh, looking up at the ceiling and turned away.
I stepped from behind the desk and growled, about to say something when the door creaked open and our gazes all went to Julian, who was pushing his way into the room, Randy at his heels. Julian glanced around the room, his lips twitching as he spotted Theo still snickering in the corner.
“And what exactly are we walking into here?” Julian asked, one of his bushy brows rising. Randy folded his arms tightly across his chest as he took up a defensive stance next to Julian.
