She froze, her eyes widening further as she looked up at me. I could see the doubt start to creep in and lifted her before she tried to run away, scooping her into my arms. She squeaked, her arm looping around my neck.
“Do you have plans today?” I asked her.
“No,” she whispered. “I’m sorry. I feel like an idiot now, I didn’t mean to just come over and?—”
“Avery.” My nostrils flared as I held her against my chest and turned the lock on my door. “One more word like that, and I’m gonna have to bend you over my knee.”
Her expression turned to shock, and then melted into something else. Something full of desire and lust and—fuck me. The way she was looking at me right now was almost enough to make me come.
I carried her down the hall and straight to my bedroom. Right to the bed I’d gotten destroyed in two nights ago.
Maybe Avery was right for coming over, because the way I felt with her was completely different from how I felt with Mateo. The dominant part of me craved her so badly. My head was full of a thousand wicked things I could do to her.
“I can’t believe you just marched across the street and knocked on my door until I answered,” I said as I sat down on the edge of the bed.
I adjusted her position until she was straddling me, the skirt of her dress hiking up. I tipped her chin up with my finger as her hands settled on my shoulders.
Finally. I had her exactly where I wanted her. I smiled. “And I can’t believe you think I’m just going to fuck you without even kissing you first.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Avery
Levi’s hands were rough against my skin, and that felt really fucking good.
I felt like an idiot. Just a little bit. After those texts, I’d looked out my window, saw Levi’s car, and got it in my head that it would be best for me to make a move. I’d march on over across the street, have mind blowing sex, and then go about my day.
The thing was, Levi wasn’t just a quick fuck to me. And not only that, I hadn’t expected him to open the door wearing nothing but a towel and looking so angry.
Then seeing all the anger evaporate the second he laid eyes on me . . .
“Levi,” I gasped as he seated me in his lap.
His eyes widened. “Are you not . . . Are you not wearing panties?”
I wasn’t. I blushed as a wave of embarrassment hit me. God, I’d really just thrown myself at him. “Sorry,” I rasped. “I went a little far. I promise I’m not just a . . . what are they called? Puck bunnies? I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore actually, I feel like an idiot. This was silly of me?—”
He cupped his hand over my mouth.
“Baby, if you say one more thing about being an idiot, I’m gonna have to give your mouth something to do so you don’t talk negatively about yourself.”
Heat skated over my skin as he lowered his hand, his mouth only inches from mine. More than anything, I wanted to kiss him.
“Levi,” I whispered. “You drive me a little bonkers.”
“Bonkers?” He snorted.
“What?”
“Just a funny word.”
“It’s a normal word. A good, normal word.”
“It’s a ridiculous one.”
“It’s an effective one, Levi Rayburn. Becauseyoudrive mebonkers.”
“I see.” He leaned forward, his green eyes searching me for a moment.
