Someone shakes a bag of spray cans like poker chips. The music gets louder. Paint drips down the wall in long, colorful streaks. The whole place loosens another notch.

A new guy wanders over to us with a crooked grin and a shirt covered in paint. “Lou, right?” he says.

Lou squints at him. “Andy?”

They look at each other like they’re trying to remember something blurry and fun. Andy grins wider. “Oh yeah. Definitely you.”

Five minutes later they’re making out against the wall.

I’m happy for Lou, but whatever the fuck I took is spinning my head, making me horny and pissed off at the same time. I take a few steps away and some guy makes eye contact. He’s not bad, and honestly, what else am I gonna do?So when he leans against the wall, crooking his finger, I go to him.

He sticks his tongue out and I see a piercing.Fuck.Maybe Lou’s right, maybe I do have a type. But the second our tongues touch, all the fun evaporates. The kiss is dead. Which makes no sense, because this guy should be exactly what I want.

I pull back, already planning my escape, and my eyes land on someone else. Jax is leaning against the wall watching me, onceagain. He looks bored, amused even. I look away.Fuck him and his can’t do the boyfriend thing way of life.

The guy against the wall says something I don’t hear. I simply smile and lean in, kissing him slow and deep, making a show of it for the asshole staring at me.

I pull back and the guy’s hands are already on my ass, thinking he’s won. Unfortunately for him, my head is fuzzy and I can’t help but be done with it all. “Sorry, I gotta?—”

He yanks me back against him, his grip tight. I try to pull away, but he just holds on tighter.

“Don’t be a tease.”

The guy’s hands are still on me when Jax appears out of nowhere, slamming him back against the wall.

“Apologize,” Jax demands.

The guy tries to laugh, but it comes out as a choke. Jax slams him into the wall again.

“Apologize.”

“Sorry,” the guy gasps.

Jax buries a fist in the guy’s stomach. The guy doubles over, gagging, and Jax doesn’t hesitate, planting a boot in his ribs. “Go fucking bleed out somewhere else.”

The guy scrambles away.

“Are you following me?” I practically spit the words at him.

He doesn’t even have the decency to look surprised. “Don’t flatter yourself, Sisk. The world doesn’t revolve around your drama.”

“Then why are you here?” I step closer. “In this specific tunnel. At this specific time. Don’t you dare say ‘for a good time’ or I swear I’ll?—”

“You’ll what?” He lifts a brow. “Tell me how much you hate me while you’re grinding on some stranger? I’ve seen the show. It’s getting repetitive.”

My face gets hot. “I’ll grind on whoever the fuck I want. I owe you nothing. Now, go and find someone else to play and throw away.”

He lets out a low chuckle. “Play and throw away? That’s your story for what happened between us?” He leans in. “Now drop the act. What’s it going to be? Punch me? Or try to fuck me? It’s always one of the two with you.”

“You’re such an asshole.”

“See? Repetitive,” he says as he leans in.

“I’m leaving,” I say, turning on my heel.

Before I can take a step, his hand is on my arm, yanking me back. I stumble and crash against his chest.

“Let go,” I snarl, trying to pull away.
