“Word on the street is you’ve mistaken yourself for a dealer,” I say, walking around him.

He’s currently hanging from rusty chains that are connected to a pair of metal cuffs on his wrists, which are attached to a butcher’s hook that’s nailed to the rafters, the tip of his toes only just reaching the concrete floor.

“Fuck you,” he spits.

“No thanks. I have a much prettier pussy waiting for me tonight.” I smirk as thoughts of Molly flicker through my mind. I’d much rather be in bed with her and that pretty fucking pussy right now.

Elias chuckles from behind us and Hudson looks at me as if I’ve grown two heads. “I knew you liked her. But fuck, man, you really are gone,” my brother says.

Ignoring him, I walk over to the table housing a range of torture implements. I’m not a stranger to inflicting pain on people. I enjoy it, more so when it’s causing a woman to squirm beneath my touch. But this shit needs to be done. I won’t have anyone thinking they can step up on our turf.

I pick up a cattle prod. It’s something my cousin Sammie J brought back with him from Texas. He went and fell in love with a country girl, Poppy. She’s perfect for him. But theirnewly in love stagemeans I don’t see as much of my cousin as I used to. He would have enjoyed this, though. He’s got an eye for torture.

“You know, this will go a lot quicker if you just tell me who gave you the drugs, Aleksei.” I walk up behind him, the prod aimed at his feet. The electric shock is excruciating.

“Fuck you, bastard,” Aleksei spits out.

“Okay, remember you chose this,” I say, pressing the prod into the backs of his toes.

His scream echoes off the walls.

“You want to try again? Who gave you those drugs to sell in my city?”

When he doesn’t answer, I press the prod to the back of his calf. Again he kicks out, trying to get away from the shock, and his scream, well, it’s fucking loud.

“Okay, okay, I’ll tell you,” he cries. “It was…”

Before he can say anything, his head fucking explodes. Literally explodes right in front of us. Covering me in brain matter, blood, and fuck me, is that a piece of bone lodged in my cheek?

I reach up and run a hand over my face. Sure enough, something small is embedded in the skin.

“What the fuck was that?” Elias asks.

I look around, first for my brother to make sure he’s in one piece and then at each of my cousins. “What the fuck?” I repeat.

“You’re going to need to see the doc.” Hudson points at me. “Now,” he adds, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the room.

Chapter Eleven

I’ve been tossing and turning all night. Part of me expected Alfie to show up. And a big part of me wanted him to. Which turned into self-hate, because I’ve never been the type of girl to sit around and wait for a man before.

I roll over and look at the time on my phone. It’s two in the morning. I’m going to end up with bags under my eyes. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, and now, I’m losing sleep again. Atleast last night, I felt good while losing sleep. There’s something about having a man like Alfie use your body. He didn’t just fuck me. He… worshiped me. He made wringing pleasure out of my body his sole purpose, and his own pleasure second.

It’s the kind of sex I’m never going to be able to forget and spend the rest of my life chasing, because how can I go back to ordinary sex now? Damn him.

“Argh.” My fist slams into the mattress before the sound of the door unlocking has me stilling. And then I’m jumping out of bed as quietly as I can and reaching for the gun I keep in the nightstand. Because I’m not going to let myself be taken without a fight.

My heart races as I listen. The door opens and closes, and then footsteps get louder the closer they get to the bedroom.

With a shaky hand, I aim the gun at the door. As it pushes open, I pull the trigger. My arm jerks at the movement before I hear him.

“What the fuck are you shooting me for?” Alfie’s voice sounds amused as he walks into the room. “And where the fuck did you get that from?” He leans down, plucks the gun from my still shaky hand, and places it on the nightstand.

More footsteps pound behind him, and I look past Alfie as two burly men come running in, weapons drawn. Alfie turns, blocking me from the newcomers’ view.

“I’m fine,” he says. And then I hear them leaving. Alfie spins in my direction again. He bends and picks me up. “Why are you on the floor?”

“What are you doing here? I could have killed you, you idiot.” I hit his chest with my palm as he places me on the bed.
