“I’m not suggesting that’s the case. I am suggesting if there was tech on Szorn which none of us knew about, then why not on your ship or elsewhere? After all, we know the Veseli and the Gonoz have been on Vorostor.”

“The Veseli and Gonoz have nothing to do with those who seek to take the galaxy and enslave all the inhabitants.”

“Funny, that’s what I thought they were doing.”

“They wanted Sarkarnii because they thought we were somehow the answer to their own problems.” Driok sighs. “They were a distraction from the real threat.”

“A threat which is still out there and has your crew.” I push my fingers into Horace’s fur as I contemplate the situation.

If they can get the better of Driok, it makes them a formidable enemy. Don’t tell him, but beneath all his ego and bluster, he’s a shrewd leader and strategist.

“They will not have them for long, if I have anything to do with it,” Driok says.

I look around the room. It’s in the dark now, save for the light from his comm. This seems to be all we have. This tiny space, a single Sarkarnii, a horc, and a pregnant lady.

I mean, I suppose it’s entirely possible we could fight this unseen enemy and be successful.

Driok pulls his hand over his face and stares at me over the comm.

“This isn’t going to be easy.”

“The part about not being able to get back to Vorostor was an indication of the difficulty level,” I respond.

“That part is not strictly true. If I get my ship back, we can go anywhere. But without it, we cannot return to Vorostor.”

I furrow my brow. “Why?”

“I have security set up. Only Vorostor badged ships can approach, since the incident with the Gonoz. Only those ships with the correct call signs will get through the psi-minefield intact.”

“Sounds like it was a good idea at the time.” I shudder internally at the thought of both the Gonoz and the Veseli. “Although, possibly not entirely thought through.”

“Normally I carry a comm which can also transmit the call sign from whatever ship I’m on,” Driok says. “But I determinedit wasn’t something I wanted to take with me on Szorn.” His eyes flick away from mine.

“You mean…the great Driok is fallible?” I put my hand over my chest in mock awe.

I don’t have time to do or say anything else because I’m caged beneath a great scaly beast. Horace squeaks and scuttles away on his many suckers into the darkness.

“You are a little female who knows how to tease a Sarkarnii,” Driok rasps, his teeth scraping over the skin on my neck.

“You said it. I know how to tease a Sarkarnii…any Sarkarnii,” I tease.

His growl practically shakes my organs loose.

“You aremine, spitfire. I rut for you, I put the sarkarnling in your belly, my cock fits you like you were made for me. You belong tome, Maggie.”

All the artificial desire for him shows itself for what it was, artificial. His growl makes me wet, instantly. His desire makes my pussy pulse. His need is my need.

“I might have already bred you, little mate, but I am going to rut you until you birth, and then I will be putting yet another sarkarnling in you.” He breathes in my ear. “I always want you ripe and round.”

A shiver runs through me. The mere thought of what I am to become and that he wants to worship that changing body ramps my desire higher.

“Driok.” I breathe his name as his fingers hook under my clothing, peeling it from my body.

“That’s my name,” he rasps. “I’m going to make sure it will always be on your lips.”

I am completely bare before him. Every single item I’m wearing has been removed as he trails his lips down my neck, his hands cupping my breasts, the claw-tipped thumbs teasing over my nipples and making me gasp.

“So sensitive,” he murmurs. “Because you are with sarkarnling, it will make your body sing like never before.”
