Oh no. Oh no. Here we go.
“What? What do you want?”
Fuck. I just had to ask, didn’t I? And I just have to hope . . .say me. Please say it. Say you want me.
“Sex. I just want some good ole rough sex.”
Oh.
Well . . . shit.
I could give that to her. I would gladly give that to her. The question is, does she want that fromme?
Sydney
I knew starting this conversation with Mark would be risky, but I did it anyway.
Clearly, I woke up and said, “Hey, what is the best way to punish myself?” And then I decided to do that before drinking a glass of water.
I run a hand over my small bump and lean against the counter. Well, if I’m doing this, I better go all the way in. Don’t hold anything back. He’s always honest with me, so it only seems right to do the same.
“Somedays, I think we should just go all in, and other days, the idea of us together freaks me out more than pushing a human out of my body.”
Oh yeah, I love to punish myself.
Or I’m trying to reward myself. After all, I did wait this long into my pregnancy to seduce him.
Is that what I’m trying to do?
“I’m not sure how to feel about that statement,” he says deadpan.
“That’s okay. I’m just letting you know.” I bite my lip and hope it looks as sexy as all those books my brothers write says it does.
“Syd, careful.” His tone is deep, sexy, and full of warning.
“I dream of you sometimes.”
Oh gosh. Listen to me. Yeah, I’m trying to seduce him all right.
His chin drops to his chest as he leans toward the island, arms stretched to the side as he thinks. Slowly, he looks up.
I could jump on him right now. Let him take me right against this countertop.
Jesus. This sex drive they talk about while pregnant is no freaking joke. Who am I?
“It’s probably best to leave it to my imagination. Real life is too complicated.”
“Well, it’s a heck of a lot better than you going out to find a random guy.”
“A random guy might be easier, though. No feelings.”
His mouth opens and pauses, the words on his lips remaining silent. He knows I’m right.
“And what happens when you tell him you’re pregnant?”
“Tell him?” I laugh and point to my belly. “If he doesn’t see this, there are bigger things to worry about.”
He shakes his head. “I don’t like this idea of you going out there alone to meet anyone right now. I’d like to come along.”
