“I want a dog,” I say.

He grins and nods.

“A big dog. Like a lab.”

“Okay.”

“No cats.”

“Noted.”

“And I want a firepit in the backyard and planters under the windows and one of the walls in the basement needs to be built-in bookshelves and—”

“Can I ask a question yet?” he cuts me off, leaning in to press his lips softly at the nape of my neck.

My heart swells, and the thought of where those lips will be in the next ten minutes consumes me.

“It better be a good one.”

“Oh, it is.” He winks and kneels. “Calla Robertson, will you marry me, again?”

He pops open a ring box, and a square-cut diamond shines up at me.

“Have you just been carrying this around?”

He laughs. “I’ve had pretty high hopes for the last twenty-four hours.”

“I’ll say.” I drop to my knees to join him on the cement and nibble at his bottom lip. “Yes.”

He wraps his arms around my waist, standing as he peppers kisses from my lips to my neck and back to my mouth.

“I knew it. I knew it all along,” he says when I wrap my legs around his hips.

“Knew what?”

“That marrying you was one of my best decisions.”

“Do you know what else is a good decision?”

“What?”

“Taking me inside. Right. Now.”

His only answer is a growl as he does just that.

Being happy is risky, but at the end of that day, Beck isn’t wrong.

Getting married was definitely the right choice.

EPILOGUE

GRAHAM

“Is this for real?” Zane asks, his eyes giant saucers and his arms folded in front of him.

“Real as it gets,” Hero says, a proud smile on his face as his gaze never leaves the picture in his hand.
