“Tell me about it. I have a to-do list a mile long at home, but when Simon mentioned the lake, I knew I’d be playing hooky on my responsibilities,” Greer says, sitting up to apply more sunscreen to her shoulders.

I’m in a chair behind her. A fucking great smart spot, let me tell you.

I should have sat next to her. Or at least moved when she was lying on her stomach.

If I thought she looked good fully covered, my mind couldn’t even put two sentences together when it saw her in a cheeky swimsuit.

I force my gaze out on the beach where Grey is tossing a football with Beck and Tobias. We invited the whole group, but not everyone can just make plans in five minutes.

Anyway, Grey tosses a perfect spiral.

I love that he has a passion. I worry he might be too obsessed with football because I feel like that’s all he’s done this summer outside of soccer and ninja warrior camp, but he could be into worse things, I suppose.

“I need to pee,” my sister announces, jumping up and walking toward the marina that sits about a quarter mile away.

“Wait up,” Beck shouts and jogs after her.

He swings an arm over her shoulders, and she looks at him just in time for a kiss.

I know, I know. It’s my sister, I should be grossed out, right? But I’m not. I’ve never been happier for two people in my life.

I let out a sigh and return my gaze to the beach, only to come face-to-face with Greer’s ass. Her perfectly round ass.

She spins to face me.

“Can you help me? I can’t get my upper back.”

If anyone were watching us right now, they would wonder why I’m staring at her and not saying anything.

She wants me to put my hands on her.

This is fine.

It’s fine.

I stand, reaching for the sunscreen. With a healthy dollop squeezed into my hand, I do just as she asks. I start with both hands in the middle of her upper back and work them out in a circle.

“Get my shoulders again, please. Can’t be too careful.”

I take a breath, and her lavender shampoo hits me. God, she smells delicious. I rub over the top of her shoulder, my fingers bumping her straps.

Without a word, she reaches up to slip them off.

“That feels good,” she says quietly.

Even though I know the sunscreen is rubbed in, I don’t stop. I keep rubbing her back and shoulders. Somewhere along the way, I step closer. She tips her head to the side, and even though I’m supposed to be stopping, my hands rub her shoulders again, my fingers brushing toward her front more and more, rubbing her lower neck. She hums and adjusts her stance, bumping into me.

We both freeze.

Since my hands are still on her, I can feel the quick rise and fall of her chest the moment her breathing picks up. She turns slowly while I drop my hands and clear my throat.

“All set?”

Her eyes meet mine and she nods.

“Yes.”

“Good.”
