That’s it? She has nothing more to say to me? No fighting, yelling, or running away crying because she thinks she did something to repulse me? Nothing?
She just walks out of the room and down the stairs. I follow; a part of me thinks I just imagined everything that just happened.
Then again, the way my jeans rub against my hard dick says it was very real.
“You’re just leaving?” I finally say. “You don’t want to talk about it?”
She slips on her coat and then her shoes before spinning to me. Her gaze locks on mine as she bites her lip, clearly debating her words.
“I’m pretty sure your mind is having the discussion for us.”
She takes a step and cups my right cheek. My hands itch to grab her and continue what we started upstairs.
“Cut your inner debate short, okay? I get it. We were in the moment. It’s fine. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
With that, she walks right out my front door.
Of course, I hover in the doorway, watching her every move until she’s safely inside her house.
She turns her porch light off, so I do the same and head up to my room.
Greer is… fuck. Why does her reaction to what just happened make me want her even more?
I strip off my shirt and toss it into my laundry hamper that sits under my window.
A light from the house next door flicks on.
Greer stands in her window, looking right at me.
She brushes a finger across her chest at the seam of her top and watches me with a flirty smile. I step up, ready to see what more she’ll do, but she reaches up and pulls the blinds shut.
Fuck me.
What did I just get myself into?
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
GREER
I slept like shit.
No, it wasn’t because I fell asleep at Simon’s only to be woken up to go to my own house. Disrupted sleep can be a huge pain in the ass. But I slept like shit because, even though I played it calm and cool, my body was screaming betrayal.
I can’t remember the last time a man made me feel the way Simon did. And he only kissed me. Kissed my lips. My neck. My stomach. My chest.
Fuck.
I slap a hand on my forehead and roll over to look at the clock.
It’s 4:36.
A perfect time to go for a morning run. Because, of course, my body has some pent-up energy it needs to get out.
I get up, change into some running clothes, and then stuff a backpack full of clean clothes. I’ll go to the studio and get a workout in before my first client shows up at six this morning. It’s a full day, thank god. I have clients until I need to go grab Grey and take him to camp.
There’ll be no time for me to think about Simon and the way his perfect soft lips felt against my body or about the way one touch made my body hum like it was going to let him do anything and everything he wanted.
“Ugh!” I growl as I step out the front door.
