There’s no way out.

I peek over the stone edge and wince. The fall will break my legs, but if I could slide down that pole, I’d get to the ground with no fractures.

Maybe.

Possibly?

I jolt at the crackle of an intercom. “Here I come.” Benny’s timbre glides over the goosebumps prickling my skin. Damn him and that sexy-ass voice.

Why is he toying with me?

Why do I secretly like it?

My life is in danger, and I’m ready to switch this game of hide-and-seek to hide-and-go-get-it.

Sweat from my palm rubs into my pajama shorts. “I can do this. Just”—I act out the acrobatics—“Do that.”

On an exhale, I tuck the phone into my bra and swing each leg over the edge of the balcony, careful not to accidentally throw myself to my death. My ass cheeks scrape the gravel surface until I’m at the column next to the pole.

“Okay”—I suck in a breath—“progress.” A glimpse of the ground below puckers my bootyhole. “I just wanted a vacation from my life,” I whimper.

Scaling buildings at my big age is madness. I never got off the ground in gym class when we had to climb a rope to the ceiling, like that wasn’t a lawsuit waiting to happen. Where are those thin blue mats when you need them?

This was stupid.

Whistling propels me into action. I yelp at the few inches I drop. My face mushes against the pole, my biceps and thighs gripping the last line of defense between me and the ground.Inch by inch, I ease the pressure between my burning legs and arms, keeping myself in place until I reach green foliage.

I could cry.

“Time’s up.”

Or shit myself.

Benny’s hands wrap around mine, prying my fingers off the pole one by one. The scent of his cologne creeps into my throat. “Word of advice?” he breathes into my neck. “You’re too loud, but you can scream for me.”

My clit thumps.

Bitch.

You heard the same thing I did.

The shock of him explodes across my body in currents. The heat from his chest burns my back. His touch upsets my balance, because why am I leaning into this bastard?

I sink low to twist out of his hold. The force of my slap swings his face to the side, knocking his phone out of my cleavage. Light from an outdoor sconce slashes across his profile in sharp angles. The imprint of a smile lingers over his lips; he wets them with his tongue.

My pulse roars in my ears at the familiar ache settling into my chest. The uneven rhythm of my breath disrupts the remaining frays of my flight response, sending an SOS. My mind tells me to run, to find an exit and get a head start pulling my body over the gate waiting for me. But my body chooses heaux foolery.

There’s no warning when he attacks my lips. The words to cuss him out smother over his mouth, forcing mine into submission. I exhale at his tongue and fingers fanning across the small of my back. The gentleness of his touch is a whisper over my skin. His mouth is on demon time, devouring every inch he takes.

Did I get Stockholm syndrome from being locked up all day? It wasn’treallya cell. It had a shower and area rugs.

Benny crushes me against the hard slab of his chest, his tongue spearing me into place. I gasp at the erection pressed into my stomach. A growl rattles his throat before my shoulder blades press into polished stone. I arch at his hands at my waist, working their way up my sleep shirt that he rips. He chases my moan and cups my breasts.

Night air licks my nipples as Benny strokes them through my sheer bra. I hiss at the pinch to the left bud he then kneads. His tongue joins his fingers, working its way over my body. Moisture gathers between my legs at the suction of his mouth over my neck, the hand working my right breast, and his grip on my pussy. I buck, lip rolled between my teeth as my knees fight against knocking together like magnets.

I know for a fact this man kills people, but here I am, rolling my hips over the fingers summoning my arousal.

Benny licks my mouth. “You’ve been a pain in my ass since I found you in my bed. You like causing trouble, don’t you? Fucking up a four-million-euro car.”That’s how much that was?“Fighting my men. That’s what you wanted, a fight? I’ll give you one.”
