Now… he’d stop.Come on, stop.

With her tongue in his mouth and her hands on his body, he couldn’t tear himself away. Tugging his shirt out of the waistband of his trousers, she pushed it off his shoulders, and he shrugged out of it. She placed kisses on his neck as she raised a leg and swung it over his lap, straddling him.

Stop…now!

The words screamed in his head, but his hands landed on her hips encouraging her to rock against his erection. Fuck, he was going to hell if he let this continue. She reached for his cock, but he grabbed her before she could cup it. As much as he needed to be inside her, he couldn’t go on. Grasping her wrist, he pulled her hand away.

“Chloe, we have to stop. There’s something—”

The buzzer sounded. Chloe looked around the room with a frown. It buzzed again. Someone was downstairs at the foyer door.

“It’s the pizza,” she groaned and glanced at him with regret at the interruption, then raised herself off him. She walked to the door and pressed the intercom to let them up. “I’ll grab the beers. Let them in when they knock.”

“Chloe, wait—” But she had already walked into the kitchen.

While he could follow her, Theo stayed seated, his elbows on his legs, his head in his hands, and tried to collect his thoughts—and get his erection under control. Chloe had confessed her love for him, and instead of telling her he had to end their relationship, he’d almost fucked her on the sofa. There was a special place in hell for men like him.

At the knock on the door, Theo got up and opened it. The least he could do was tip the delivery person.

It wasn’t the pizza.

Ethan stood in the hallway. His gaze dropped to Theo’s bare chest, and his eyes widened. Shit, he’d forgotten to put his shirt back on.

“Fancy meeting you here. In the middle of the day, no less.” Ethan said in a surprisingly amused voice.

“Ethan… is that you?” Chloe came to the front door with beer bottles in hand. “What are you doing here?”

“I was in town and wanted to drop by to surprise you by taking you out to lunch.” He took in Chloe and Theo’s appearances. “I guess I should’ve called first.”

“You think?” both Chloe and Theo said in unison.

“Aw, aren’t you two adorable?” Ethan said with a smug grin. “I was right, you two are perfect for each other.”

What the fuck? Theo had thought that Ethan didn’t want Chloe dating. Now he was saying that he’d set them up? He’d played matchmaker? Again, what the fuck?

Apparently Chloe was thinking the same thing because she said, “What was all of this stuff about not letting me date and asking Theo to watch out for me?”

“It was perfect, right? Two birds, one stone.” He pointed at Chloe. “I didn’t want you dating strange men.” He shifted his finger to Theo. “And you needed to find new love after your divorce. And I knew that both of you have had crushes on each other since we were in high school. It just made sense. Who better for my baby sister than my best friend?”

“Why didn’t you just come out and say that?” Chloe demanded.

“Oh, please, as if you’d ever listen to me! I knew if I threw the two of you together, this would happen.” He rubbed his hands together. “So, how long have you been seeing each other?”

“Oh, for heaven’s sake. We don’t need to give you the play-by-play.” Chloe crossed her arms over her chest. “Besides, do you really want to know about my sex life?”

Ethan blanched. “On second thought, no.”

Theo stared at his best friend. “The entire time I’ve been with Chloe, I thought I was betraying the bro code. And now I find out this whole time you’ve been setting us up.”

“I know, it’s great!” Ethan said, clearly pleased with himself. “You would never betray the bro code unless you were serious about my sister.”

Theo froze.

Ethan narrowed his eyes. “Tell me I’m wrong. If you weren’t serious about Chloe, you’d stay away, right?”

Theo’s gaze flicked to Chloe, and just like on the sofa, she looked at him with a hopeful expression, waiting for his answer.

“You wouldn’t sleep with her unless you were taking this all the way, right?” Ethan pushed Theo for an answer.
