A few minutes later, the flight attendant comes back with our beverages, and I do my best to shift discreetly in my seat so they don’t see the state I’m in. After the man leaves, I take a sip of my beverage, settling back into my seat so I can continue to watch Grace in peace.
As soon as the vodka hits my tongue, Grace begins to stir. Her eyes crack open, and her lips part in the cutest little yawn.
“How long was I out?” Her voice is hoarse, deeper than normal.Adorable.
I reach over, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear, loving how her skin heats at my touch. “A couple of hours. We should be landing soon.” I gesture toward the cup of tea on her tray. “That’s for you. If you want something else, just say the word.”
Her eyes light up at the sight of the beverage. “This is perfect! Thank you so much!” She brings it to her lips, taking a large sip. Though instead of the happy expression I expect, her mouth twists in disappointment.
“Something wrong?”
“No, not at all.” She frowns at the surface of the milky tea. “I’ve just been thinking… What herbs do you put in your tea at the office?”
I blink slowly, putting all my effort into keeping my expression cool. “Herbs?”
“Yes. The ones you make me always taste better. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what it is.”
I can’t keep the smile off my face this time.
“It’s a secret. I’d be more than happy to make you a cup when we get to the hotel. I brought some of my… special brew with me on the trip.”
“Oh! That would be great!” She beams, and my balls tighten painfully. Dirty little Grace loves the taste of my cum, and I’m going to make sure to give her all she could ever want and more.
I just have to make it through the rest of this damn flight.
“Wow. It’s so… bright.” Grace’s voice comes out a hushed whisper, her nose pressed against the glass as she stares out the passenger window.
After picking up our luggage, I rented a car so we could drive to the hotel alone. Grace is still very worried about the other employees discovering we’re dating, so I’ve done my best to make sure we’re as inconspicuous as possible this weekend.
I would love to tell the world I’m seeing Grace, scream it from the rooftops—but what she wants is all that matters. So, for the time being, we’ll keep pretending in public. When the doors are closed, though, she belongs to me.
“Oh look, Archer! The beach!”
At her excited cry, I move my gaze from where it’s locked on her profile to look out the window, seeing Neon City for the first time since we arrived. I’ve been so laser-focused on Grace, I haven’t been paying attention to my surroundings—but she’s right. Itisbeautiful. Not anywhere nearly as stunning as my angel, but I can appreciate the view all the same.
“It’s nice.” I flick my gaze to her profile. “Beautiful.”
“It really is.” Her lips tip into a hopeful smile. “Do you think we’ll have any time to go to the beach?”
“If you want, I’ll make sure you get to the beach,” I say without hesitation. “We can go every single day if you want.”
She laughs. “We still have to get work done, Archer! We can’t live on the water, as much as I’d like that…”
“Hmm.” If she says the word, I’d move us to Neon Valley in a heartbeat. Anywhere Grace wants to go, I’ll take her. As long as I get to follow and be by her side, I’ll go anywhere, do anything she wants.
We drive the rest of the way to the hotel in comfortable silence, my hand resting on Grace’s thigh as she gazes out the window, taking in the sights and crystal blue waves along the shore.
We arrive at the hotel, but as soon as we get out of the car, Grace is filled with nervous energy. She keeps looking around, paranoid, searching for someone who would recognize her.Maybe I should have booked us at a different hotel…
There’s nothing I can do about it now, though. Sighing, I walk over to the desk and check us in. We have separate rooms, but I was able to get our rooms next to each other on a separate floor from the other employees for added privacy.
Once everything is settled, I turn to face Grace, placing two room keys into her outstretched palm. “This one is for your room, and this one is mine. You can come over any time you want.”
“Thanks.” Her cheeks heat with a blush. “I, um… should probably take a shower and get changed before we meet the others for dinner.”
I tilt my head, confused at her complete change in demeanor. I knew she was nervous, but it really seems like she’s icing me out. “Okay. Want to walk down together?”
She bites her lip. “We should probably head down separately. Don’t want to look suspicious, you know?”
