She looks up with a smile.Don’t smile at me.Don’t look at me with those eyes.I beg you.

“I’m leaving to fly to two of our resorts off the Mediterranean Sea,” I say tersely.“You’ll have to accompany me.Is this short notice going to be a problem for you?”

“No,” she says quickly wincing as she gets a paper cut.She sticks the injured finger in her mouth and sucks gently.

Glad it won’t be a problem for her.For me, it’ll be a few dick handshakes in the shower.“There’s not enough time for you to return home.If you had plans tonight, you may want to inform your husband.”I nearly choke on the word.Lucky bastard.I have billions. But he has her.

“But I’ll need a change of clothes…”

“Once we reach our destination, you can buy clothes at the resort.”

When she doesn’t answer, it occurs to me she might not have the means to purchase the pricey clothes the resort sells.“Clothing for travel is a company perk,” I lie.

She frowns.“HR didn’t mention that either.”

I shrug and glance at the wristwatch Oliver gifted me.It’s more than an expensive timepiece. If I push a button, it activates a team of bodyguards trained in combat and rescue.I’ve never used that feature.Odds are, I never will.

Despite me telling Oliver what happened to me as a kid couldn’t possibly happen again since the kidnapper is still in prison, it made him vigilant about my safety. He was as affected by everything as I was during those hellish days.

“Mr.Montclair? You’ve gone pale.”Salem rises and comes around the desk to put her hand on my arm, concern in her tone and showing on her face “Do you need something to eat?”

You have no idea, Siren, exactly what I’d like to eat.I step to the side, forcing her to drop her hand. The gods must be laughing their asses off at my grandmother’s move.Finding me a new assistant that my cock aches to have but I can’t touch.

“I’m fine.Let’s go.”I need to get out of here.Away from this torturing temptation.

The drive to the airport takes longer than usual and Salem’s nearness tests my restraint.I’m aware of her every movement.Aware of the scent of her shampoo.

Is her husband as aware of her scent as I am?I’m losing it.I shift closer to the door and exhale heavily.

There’s her fucking hand on my arm again.A brief touch.Nothing sexual or romantic. It’s driving me crazy.

“You’re pale again. Are yousureyou’re okay?”she asks in a soft voice.“I’m asking because a friend of mine struggles with low blood sugar.”

I look at her, on the verge of coldly telling her not to touch me so my cock doesn’t poke through my zipper, but those eyes pull me in, dragging me under.I want to ask her why she’s already married. Why didn’t she wait for our fates to collide.

But that wouldn’t be wise of me.

Instead, I say, “Are you concerned I might flop over and you’ll have to perform mouth to mouth?”

Her gaze darts to my lips.

“Do you know CPR?Or would I be out of luck?”I tease.

“I know CPR.I spent a few summers working as a lifeguard on the beach when I was in college.”

Picturing her in a tiny bikini under the hot sun slays me.

I don’t touch married women, I remind myself. My boner pretends he can’t hear me and carries on pushing against my zipper.

Finally, the drive is over, and I’ve never been so damn happy to see the private jet waiting as I am today. The minute the driver slows to a stop, I’m out of the car, striding forward, dragging in deep gulps of the hot as fuck air, my lungs burning in tune with my body.

Once we’re settled and airborne and I’m back in control of my wayward body, I say, “We’ll have a staff meeting at the first resort as soon as we arrive.”

She nods.“From the report I read, a handful of employees are why the resort isn’t as booked as it was last year.”

“Correct. After that’s dealt with, we’ll head to the resort located on the Island of Midnight where we’ll attend a small party for some VIPs.”

“Understood,” she says, then adds, “Island of Midnight? Why did you give it that name?”
