She moaned and wrapped a leg around my waist. Our eyes caught and held, never once looking away. This wasn’t just sex. This was making love.

I watched myself slide in and out, and I had to slow the fuck down. I was too close too soon.

She was gripping me so tightly I wasn’t sure how much longer I would be able to hold myself back. I sucked a nipple into my mouth and dragged my lips over to the other one.

Her lips parted, her breathing sped up as she squeezed her inner walls around my shaft.

I was so fucking gone I couldn’t see past the white blur behind my eyelids.

My release hit me hard. I bucked my hips forward and buried myself in deep. I came on a grunt and collapsed back against the cushions.

Her head fell forward onto my chest. I wrapped my arms around her, holding on tight.

I smiled as she relaxed into me. “I don’t think I’ve come that hard since I was sixteen.”

I wasn’t sure if it was the lack of a condom or if it was just her, but I was satisfied in a way I never felt before.

I rolled onto my side, bringing her with me. She settled against my chest, fitting perfectly without even trying.

The room went quiet in the way it did when there was no noise and tension—just peace.

I slid my hand along her waist, tightening it slightly.

I was unable to stop the smile from breaking out across my face. “Let’s give ourselves a label.”

She laughed softly against my shoulder. “What is our label going to be?”

My hand reached out and slid to the back of her neck, tilting her face up to meet my eyes. “How about taken?”

She blinked up at me. “Taken?”

I laced our fingers together and brought them to my mouth. “Yes, because you are.”

“Who says I’m taken?” She traced her fingers lazily along my forearms.

I stared down at her. There was a twinkle in her eyes. “That would be me. Your boyfriend.”

“Really? That’s news to me. I don’t remember you asking me.”

I buried my face in the crook of her neck. “I should have known you wouldn’t make this easy on me.”

She shifted in my arms, turning just enough to face me. “You don’t want easy. You’d get bored.”

I reached out, brushing her hair away from her face. “I know we haven’t been together long enough, but I want to make this work. I’m all in.”

Her expression softened. “Good. Because I was worried that I would have to be the brave one and define what this is first. So, thanks for beating me to it.”

A grin pulled at my mouth. “I didn’t mean to steal your thunder. I can take it all back and let you say what you need to say.”

She rolled her eyes. “I wasn’t sure it was the right time with everything going on. I didn’t want to assume and risk putting myself out there if you weren’t in the same place as me.”

I tightened my arm around her, pulling her close. “Well, I hope I cleared things up for you.”

“You did, and I appreciate you sparing me from embarrassing myself.” She tilted her head up. “And for the record, I’d really like to be your girlfriend.”

I brushed my thumb along her jaw. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” She kissed my lips softly. And this time, it felt different.
