“Answer it,” I said, stroking a hand over her pussy.

She gave me a warning look, but complied, pressing the speaker button so we could all hear the tantrum.

“What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you trying to ruin my life?”Adam screamed down the line.

I leaned over Tatum and pressed my hardening erection to her core. Her lips quirked, and she hooked her heels over my hips, pulling me inside her in a long stroke.

“Where did you put the money? The cops are at my door talking about your psychotic ass. All I want is to be free of you, but you can’t let me go because you’re a fucking head case.”

I rolled my hips, building momentum as Adam’s self-righteous drivel echoed through the room. I waited until her breath stuttered and she tightened around me before I spoke up.

“Listen here, asshole, firstly”—I thrust into her hard, thumbing her clit as she screamed in bliss—“that’s what it sounds like when she isn’t faking it. And second, if you even so much asthinkher name, I’ll make sure evidence that will put you on death row reaches the right hands. Consider what you’re going through a course correction and be happy I don’t have time to teach you the lesson you deserve. Lose this number.”

I ended the call and gave Tatum another orgasm for good measure before I found my own release and collapsed between the two bodies on the bed.

“That was kind of badass,” Harvey said, chuckling.

“He deserved worse,” I said, pressing a kiss to his lips, then to Tatum’s.

This was perfect.

We lay in silence for a while until Tatum’s phone vibrated a second time.

“I swear to God, if that’s him again, I’m calling my uncle at Quantico and having them do a deep dive on his life.”

“No, it’s a Wisconsin area code.” She sat up, gathering the sheets around her as she answered the call.

By the time the call ended, everything had changed.

“I have to go.”

“Wait, just let us come with you.” Harvey stumbled over the sheets as he retrieved his jeans.

“You have a show to do. Stay here. I…have to go.”

And she did. Without another word, she pulled her dress on and fled the hotel.

By the time we were dressed and back at the bus, there were no signs she’d ever been there.

She was gone.

Tatum

The seven-hour drivefrom Des Moines to Bayfield felt like an eternity. Not only had Dad been admitted to hospital, but Ma, too? My world was falling apart, and the only people I felt like speaking to were the ones I’d left without a word of explanation. No note, no promise to return, because I didn’t want to give them false hope. If I was needed here, this had to be my priority.

The guys would be fine.

Otis was a better manager than I’d ever been, and he’d coordinated the tour so well before we left that it would be smooth sailing.

Tobias was sober, and his relationship with Calix was healing. I’d caught them using their twin telepathy a few times, and it warmed my heart to see them reconnect.

Otis and Harvey had each other. No way would Harvey go back to his old ways now he’d found what they have. The time wespent together in the hotel room before I got the phone call was the hottest experience of my life.

I wished them all well.
