I spin my head back to face him. “You do?”

I haven’t bitten Adler back. It’s not something he’s spoken about, although I’m sure he’d be happy about the idea.

Luca taps a spot on his neck. “Right here.”

I lean in, breathing in his scent before I bite. He instantaneously hardens beneath me, grasping my ass as my teeth break the surface of his skin. I withdraw to admire the mark I left behind. My mark may not be bonding, but it’s a hell of a turn-on, leaving me with the lingering taste of iron on my tongue.

“Sabs.” His voice gets caught in his throat as I reach down to grab his cock, unable to wait as I sink myself down onto him, groaning as we become one.

“Do it,” I encourage him, tipping my head again. “Claim me.”

He picks the spot right where my neck meets my shoulder, burrowing his face into me before I feel a slight sting as his canines pierce my skin. It’s not an explosion of fireworks, but a steady, soothing warmth that floods through my veins, making me feel both comforted and relaxed, just like this bath.

I feel his awe as I slowly ride him, moving my hips sensually. Our lips meet in wet, gasping kisses as his knot grazes my pussy teasingly.

“Luca…”

Without warning, he locks in place, and I shatter. His pleasure melts into mine, seamlessly blending together as our emotions combine. It reminds me of a surfer hitting the wave at the ideal point, cruising along, riding the euphoria, totally at one with the ocean.

“I was supposed to help you clean up.” He wears a lazy smile as I fall against him, my wet hair trailing down my spine.

“You did.” I kiss him on his cute nose, reminding me of our first date at the lake.

Here in his arms, I feel safe, and my heart feels a little fuller. Another alpha added to my pack.

FORTY-ONE

Sabs

“Sabs?” Orin calls from inside the nest. “Food’s ready!”

After lazing around in the bath, kissing each other’s bond marks and letting the bath do its magic to fully relax our muscles, the water turns tepid, and Luca’s knots deflates.

“Let’s get you something to eat.”

Despite the circles under his eyes, I can feel that Luca’s anything but tired. In fact, our bonding seems to have given him an extra burst of energy.

“But I already feel empty!”

“Eat first, knots later.” His voice is firm as he helps me out and wraps me up in a gigantic towel. “After what we’ve just done, you need fuel.”

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a towel so large; he cocoons it around me until it reaches from my shoulders to the floor, wrapping around me twice over. With a few rubs down my body, I’m dry before he helps me into my Stella House bathrobe.

Back in the nest, the guys have gathered in the corner of the room where we’ve assembled bean bag chairs. It’s the best spot to watch any action unfolding on the sex swing on the opposite side of the room, which has seen a lot of use lately. My stomachsurprises me by rumbling when I see that the table next to the mini-fridge is covered in snacks.

Adler smirks as soon as he sees us. I’m guessing he can feel that Luca and I bonded through our connection, but from the way Orin and Drax are acting, they’re still oblivious. Clearly, he chose not to spoil the surprise.

“Emergency delivery from the Tea House.” Orin doesn’t look at me as he busies himself with laying out cinnamon buns and a variety of pastries.

Orin has taken off work for my entire heat—the longest time he’s ever taken off, apparently. I’m sure he could have left me for a few hours with the others, but he has refused to leave my side.

“Did you…?” Drax is the first to notice, sniffing the air like an animal that can sense a weather shift coming.

“No fair!” Adler’s jaw drops when he sees the mark on Luca’s neck. “You marked him?”

“You never asked for one,” I remind him in response to his adorable pouting.

Orin’s eyes widen as he takes in the scene. “How do you feel?” He scans us over like a doctor checking a patient. “Do you need to sit down?”
