“What?”
“Ms. Wallace.”
“What did you say? Dad, I know you’re working long hours, but she’s very human. You’ll have to trust me on that one.” Just thinking about her created another deep ache that I had no business feeling for an ungodly number of reasons.
His chuckle was also exactly that way he’d been when the kids had asked him if Santa Claus existed. “I know.”
“Then that’s an impossibility, both physically and chemically.”
“Is it?”
“Well, hell, yeah. Getting married is one thing. Mating is something else, Dad. Do I need to buy you a wolf anatomy book?”
He glanced at the water, nodding a couple of times. “You do know your mother and I mated. Right?”
“Are you feeling okay? Of course I know you mated. You had four wolf cubs.”
“Yes, we did and I’m mostly proud of all of them.”
Mostly. “Then what is your point?”
“Have you ever seen your mother shift?”
I had to think about his question. “Well, no, but…” Whoa. Hold on.
With a clearly amused sigh, he turned and started back toward the meeting. “Maybe you need to have a chat with your mother about what it’s like to be mated to a wolf.”
As he walked away, I could feel my mouth dropping open.
“My mother is human?”
“You’ll need to trust me on that.”

LA Times:All Eyes Will be on Ford ‘The Wolfman’ Kendrick. A Cinderella Story in the Making

I was going to throw up.
Not just quiet, easy toss your cookies in a bag bile slipping from my throat either. But a full-fledged, retching sound made along with spewing projectiles that wouldn’t begin to fit into a tiny barf bag.
My fingers dugs into the armrests as the plane rattled down the runway and there was no seatbelt made that could keep my buttin the seat. With my teeth jarring from the heavy vibrations, I sensed I was panting like a dog in heat. My vision wasn’t any better since my eyes were filled with tears.
Thank God no one was sitting next to me, or they’d have claw marks on every inch of their body.
Except suddenly, I felt a presence.
Then a heavy, deep breath with hot air cascading across my neck.
Then a warm hand placed on my knee.
Instead of me lashing out uncontrollably like I normally would do, an instant wave of calm rolled through me. Soft and sweet like a baby’s blanket. Unfortunately, as the runway ended and the plane was in the air, my gasp was one of horror, an agonizing sound that I was incapable of stopping even when I slapped my hand across my lips.
The all-male presence beside me grabbed my other hand, which he learned within seconds was a mistake. I wrapped my fingers around his, squeezing until I knew I was cutting off the blood flow.
