Ihad confused the fuck out of Dynamo. She’d turned a few times to try and catch me ogling her, and when she didn’t, it threw her. No doubt Dynamo was used to male attention, wanted or otherwise. If she realised I knew the truth, she’d freak.

Tiredly, I drove home and paid the babysitter. Unlike most parents, I didn’t have a teenage girl. Nope, I hired a fully grown woman who looked after Raven and Robin. She’d been vetted thoroughly before being allowed near them. Checking on my angels, I smiled as I watched them snuggled down. Then, turning off the lights, I headed to my office and booted up the laptop.

I clicked a secure data link and began searching for something related to Dynamo.

There was very little. Actually, there were hardly any facts in anything I discovered on the surfacesearch. Frowning, I expanded the range and again learned zilch. The Camden chapter never faced criminal charges, received no jail time, and, honestly, none of them had even had a parking ticket. It was impossible for the club to be clean. The RBMC had to be buying their way out of trouble.

Lead after lead proved fruitless, and I sat back. Typing in Royal Bastards nationwide, I discovered that several of the chapters played a role in ending local trafficking. Again, nothing was black and white; more rumours and disappearances. There was zilch about Dynamo disappearing and being trafficked.

Unwilling to accept that, I went deeper. I dug into the club’s private phone records and found the time Dynamo disappeared. Hundreds of calls happened over a two-week period, each number tracking to a different Royal Bastard MC chapter or ally. The calls continued, but the initial flurry had happened then. Unconcerned, I hacked Warden’s text messages and discovered images of Dynamo and favours called in. Her club did not stop searching for her. Idly, I wondered if Dynamo realised how hard they’d looked.

How had they found her? If a method to track traffickers existed, ACI needed to be aware of it. I had to find a way to broach the subject with Dynamo or one of the members without triggering anyone.

Just before I shut the laptop down, I sent Cipher a smiley face with the byline, ‘Two can play your game!’

Cipher

In confusion, I stared at the screen. How the hell did someone get past my security and firewall? There were fewer than four with the required skills, and why would they bother? Intrigued, I tried tracking the hack but hit a brick wall. Grinding my teeth, I doubled down. I’d find out who this fucker was.

Dynamo

A week had passed since I’d seen Mike, but he’d not left my thoughts. Those damn eyes that night haunted me, and I didn’t understand why. The entire situation was puzzling. Once I’d returned to the clubhouse, Slasher healed me fully without a word. By the time I woke the next day, nobody would know I’d been in a match.

“Dynamo!” a voice called, and I looked up and saw Iona walking towards me. Lindy accompanied her, and I nodded at the old ladies.

“Hey, we’re heading to Regal Ink. Soar is going to finish up my half sleeve,” Iona said.

“Looks great,” I replied.

“Want to join us?” Iona asked, and I gave her an incredulous look. What, because I had a pussy, I was part of the old lady gang?

Warden’s woman offered an uncertain smile. Fuck. Iona was still trying to find her feet after learning some harsh truths.

“Nah, I’m heading to Illuminate to help Rook with some paperwork, but thanks,” I said stiffly. Lindy broke into a wide grin as I moved past. Just as I was crossing the road, there was a stifled scream. Reacting instantly, I turned and witnessed Lindy being shoved down an alley.

My heart lurched.

I raced over and heard something that turned my blood cold.

“Warden needs reminding who’s in charge.”

Iona whimpered, and I entered the alley.

“Well, now. Guess we didn’t get all of you cunts,” I snarled.

McKay, the president of Screaming Barons, shoved a gun into Iona’s head. “Back the fuck up,” he ordered.

Iona’s eyes were wide and filled with fear.

“Nah. Picked the wrong time and place, McKay. This town belongs to the Royal Bastards.” Casually, I stalked forward, eyes narrowed as I recognised those standing behind him. Knife, Crazed, and Duster. Rattle held a knife to Lindy’s throat. How the fuck had these assholes escaped the destruction of the Screaming Barons clubhouse?

“How’s shit, Dynamo?” McKay sneered.

“You wanna shoot the wind?” I demanded and shook my head.

“Nah. I’m sending that spineless prick of a presidenta message.” McKay’s finger tightened on the trigger. Lindy gasped as the blade dug into her throat.

“Don’t. I’m pregnant,” Iona cried, and McKay grinned.
