“I’m not here to hurt anyone; I’m here to rescue you. But I can’t let you out until I’ve cleared the assholes out,” I called out.

“Whatever,” a woman said weakly.

“I’ll be back,” I promised.

“No rush, we’re not going anywhere,” the woman replied bitterly.

Upset and angry, I headed out. There’d been an empty cell, and I bet the victim was undergoing a nightmare right now. Despair and hopelessness permeated the air down here. Desperation accompanied a sense of death. The prisoners had given up hope, and I couldn’t blame them. But we would rescue them.

Sixteen men had died so far. There couldn’t be many more.

Screams started close by, and I ran in that direction. I flung open a metal door and discovered a woman strapped down to a bed.

A naked man stood over her, whipping her and tearing her skin open. I tossed him against a wall as another guy rushed me. He joined the first as I faced the third asshole present.

“Fuck!” he stammered and held his hands up.

“Splint, you motherfucker.” I grinned. “Gonna fuckin’ enjoy killing you.” I slammed the Screaming Barons’ brother’s head into the wall and knocked himout.

The girl on the bed broke into sobs, and I smashed the cameras. I didn’t care if I’d been filmed. Those watching would soon die.

Romeo entered behind me.

“She’s badly hurt. We need Slasher,” I said. Romeo’s eyes grew white as he reached out. “Lock her mind down. She’s suffered enough.”

Romeo nodded, and moments later the girl went limp as Romeo removed her from this nightmare. I winced at the open wounds on her stomach. There was semen between her legs, and it was obvious she’d been raped first. From what I’d witnessed, they’d been going to whip her to death. Christ. What was wrong with these people?

“Dynamo?” Slasher asked as I waited with the girl.

“Heal her. There are prisoners below, victims; they’ll also need healing.”

“We need the cops,” Warden said. “There’s too many to move quietly.”

“Take these back to the wet room. Slasher can heal the other guards, but Romeo, leave them in screaming agony.”

“Is that…” Warden demanded, seeing Splint.

“Yeah. Screaming Barons run this. They need to be located, and McKay needs to pay.”

“Agreed. Romeo will get the information from Splint.”

“Yup. But Vogue and I owe him,” I stated.

“Ain’t denying that. How low did McKay and the SBMC sink?”

“Look around, Prez, the answer is right in front of your eyes.”

With that, I walked away. Noble came up to me. “There’re forty-five men, women, and children here. You did a good thing.”

“Just a drop in the ocean.” It was, and it wasn’t enough.

Chapter Twelve.

Mike

The rescue hit the papers three days later; a damn miracle law enforcement had kept it quiet so long. Sixteen men had been arrested and forty-five victims rescued. I knew Dynamo and the Royal Bastards were involved, although the cops were saying an anonymous tip-off had been called in. Tragically, five bodies were found: four young women and one man. All had died horribly, but over fifty had been tortured to death and cremated. Officers had discovered the snuff film footage. Maine was struggling with what was happening. Questions were being raised about how this had escaped police notice. The truth was Maine had access to Canada and the North Atlantic Ocean.

But the country was also reeling from the rich andfamous admitting they’d used slave labour and trafficked victims. In addition to that, a hacker had spilt data concerning thousands of people who’d bought into a rape website. Which again had been based in Maine. Yeah, the Royal Bastards’ fingerprints were all over this.
