“He was one of us until he killed two men in cold blood. Jude put him up for court martial and he bounced. Rainbow got away with murder but has been a thorn in our side ever since,” I explained.

“How much of a threat is he?” Dynamo inquired.

“He’s a former SEAL Team Six member, fuckin’ dangerous,” Tomahawk replied.

“Who put the hit out?” I asked.

Jude sent Dynamo a look.

“The Royal Bastards.”

“The fuck we did,” Dynamo flared up instantly.

“We know. We cleared your club quickly,” Jude said.

Dynamo subsided but was still bristling.

“Caleb broke through in minutes. McKay from the Screaming Barons MC placed the bounty on you for two reasons. He knows you were involved in the rescue, and he’s seen you with Dynamo. He’s aiming at the Royal Bastards and us using you. You’re on lockdown, Mike.”

Dynamo turned with guilt written across her face. Her shoulders slumped, and she looked defeated.

“Told you I was bad news,” she murmured and walked away.

Chapter Thirteen.

Dynamo

Damn it, I’d led McKay right to Mike’s door and the children. Stupidly, I’d put Raven and Robin in danger. Now I had to fix this mess. McKay needed tracking down and his miserable life ending. The man was lower than scum, and his type of sickness couldn’t be allowed to stain this earth anymore. Boots stomped, and I spun, plastering myself to the wall. Sweat beaded on my forehead, and my hand raised in defence. Shit, I hated people coming up behind me without warning.

“Hey!” Mike held his hands up as he and Jude stared, concerned. “Babe, it’s me.”

I drew in a few staggered breaths before nodding. “Sorry. Somebody approaching from…” I broke off, unwilling to admit weakness.

“Not a problem,” Jude said. “Should have realisedthat.”

“Why should you?” I burst out. “Christ, walking up behind someone is normal!”

“Loads don’t like having a stranger behind them. That’s fine, and PTSD is a bitch.”

Taken aback, I paused, forgetting whatever I was about to say and stared at Jude. “What?”

Jude frowned. “Dynamo, you’ve got PTSD.”

“No.”

“Trust me, Dynamo, you’ve got classic symptoms.”

With a thump, I slid down the wall, sitting on my ass as my mind raced. Nobody had labelled what I’d felt before, and this surprised me. I wracked my brain to figure out what I knew about PTSD, and enlightenment dawned.

“Shit, I never realised.”

“Those suffering don’t. PTSD just quietly spirals out of control,” Mike said, nodding.

“Damn, I thought…”

“No,” Mike stated firmly. “Dynamo, I’ve treated you carefully because you’re a rape survivor, but also because you’re dealing with PTSD. Babe, you came through a personal war and survived. But that left damage—something we’ve all got.” Mike motioned between him and Jude.

“Mike, I need treatment.”
