“I would never,” she says. “This is all mine now.”
Nodding, I hold her tight and breathe in the scent of our lovemaking in the air.
Sexy times indeed. She yawns and then curls into my chest. “I need a nap. It’s been a helluva day.”
I close my eyes. “Yeah, it has. But it’s been perfect.”
“Except for the psycho.”
I nod my head and laugh. “Yeah. Except for him.”
I can’t believe I can laugh about it. I lift her chin up. Her eyes meet mine. “I almost lost my mind when they said you were gone. I knew that I had to find you. Or I’d never recover from the loss. You’re my everything. You, Claudia and my mom? You guys mean more to me than anything in this world.”
She smiles gently and reaches over to kiss my lips, her mouth clinging to mine, soft and sweet.
“I knew that you’d come for me. I just had to hold out until you did.”
“Every time. I’ll always come for you. Even if you try and run from me, I’ll find you. You can’t hide from me.”
“Stalker,” she smirks. But she curls into me and rubs her chin on my chest right over my heart. “You can’t chase me off. You’re stuck with me.”
“I can’t imagine anyplace I’d rather be.”
And I tuck her into me, her eyes close and I let my own eyes close as I breathe her in.
Mine. Always. This right here is what I never thought I’d find. And even if I lose control around her, it’s okay. She matches me wild for wild.
Smirking, I finally let my mind go and slip into sleep, never letting her go.
She’s right where she belongs. She’s home. And so am I.
The End
Epilogue: Willow
Icringe when my husband grabs hold of another person and tries to move them to the back of the line. He’s not a fan of people that cut. Or men.
As evidenced by the fact that all the men who are waiting to get their books signed are in the back of the line and the women are all up front.
Livvy sighs. “I can’t believe he’s still like this. I mean. It’s been six years and two more kids. You guys are trying to start your own baseball team for heaven’s sake! Tell your husband to stop acting like a caveman lunatic and just settle down.”
Giggling, I watch as he growls at another man who walks in the door. “I’ve tried. He refuses to think that there are men out there that love romance books. He thinks they’re all here to hit on me.”
Livvy nods her head. “I’m not sure they’re not but it’s bad for business because they’re also buying books. It’s good for your bottom line.”
I glance at the clock and sigh. “Seriously, Livvy. How much longer? I’m exhausted and Ginny is going to be needing food pretty soon.”
“I told you to get her started on bottles.”
“And I told you I’m not ready for that yet.”
I love nursing my babies. I’m not ready to give it all up. Now that we’ve got a boy and a girl that Claudia can be a big sister to, Jasper wants to stop.
I’d gladly have more babies. But he says we’re getting too old and it’s not safe.
“I hate geriatric pregnancies,” I growl under my breath. Just because I’m thirty six and he’s in his forties doesn’t mean we can’t have more kids.”
“Stop trying to repopulate the planet with that man and just write! Your last book has been on the bestseller list for about six months. They’re saying that this last trilogy is your best ever. I mean, I’m so damn happy that I can’t hardly stand myself and my boss is offering me a raise and a beamer. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
