“Yeah right. You know who you talkin’ to, right? You coming to the house with me? I gotta watch Mille in the morning while my parents take care of some shit.” She dug back into her food.

Rose smirked, looking her up and down with his lazy ass eyes. He was high and sleepy from his journey, but being around Minx always put him in a good space. She balanced him out with her livewire energy.

“You know… you could?—”

“Light up the darkest room?” she spoke for him, giving him her coy smile, eyes sparking with a hint of mischief.

Rose had been telling her that for as long as she could remember. Growing up, they spent a lot of dark days together. Through the tears, the fears, and the somber stories, they were bonded. Some things she couldn’t talk about with anyone else. He didn’t have to say anything most of the time. His presence alone was comfort for her.

“Yeah, I’ve been told that once or twice.” Her half smirk sent his pulse racing.

Some real simp shit in his opinion. Never had another woman been able to do that. There was no way he should be feeling this way about her. After all these years, Rose thought that shit would go away. It hadn’t. She still woke up a side of him that probably didn’t exist before her. He used to chalk it upto them being so close. He never had a girlfriend, but plenty of bitches he fucked and entertained. None of it was labeled. Rose didn’t keep the same girl around most of the time. Minx was the one consistency his entire life. Nadia was the homie, and although she’d drop any and everything to come running for him, her position in life was no comparison to Minx.

“Y’all ready to ride out? I got some shit I need to handle,” Finn called from the driver’s seat.

Rose stood with the rest of his food and devoured his burger. Minx was already almost done too. She had some fries left, which she was taking her time eating.

“Your little bitch can wait. We catching up, and I’m not done with my food, fool,” she replied, slowly chewing her next fry on purpose.

Finn flipped her off from his seat. He sat back and sparked a new blunt while chopping it up with Luna. Finn gave up on trying to get the pussy from her years ago. She was fine as hell too. Small in the waist, cute in the face, and thick everywhere else. Her skin reminded him of a piece of caramel. He always thought she was one of the prettiest women in the world. Luna knew that Finn was a player though, and he repped that shit proudly that no bitch could tame him.

“She probably some low-budget ass thot anyway.” She took a drag of the blunt he handed her, and Finn spun in his seat to face her.

“You got me fucked up. All I fuck with is dimes and up. Sounds like somebody dealing with a little regret,” Finn argued, and Rose couldn’t do nothing but laugh at the nigga. The nigga was lying. He would fuck a bitch with Freddy Kreuger face if her body was bad.

“Regret? Nigga, from what?” Luna inhaled and turned her nose up.

Finn, with his even fade and those damn dimples, was fine as fuck. Every time she saw him, Luna got flustered. She was able to contain herself, and talking shit back and forth to one another was kind of their thing. Rose and Minx always knew it was years of tension between them building up.

“From being able to lock down a real one,” Finn told her, oozing with confidence.

Luna raised her hand to the back of his head.

Smack!

“You might be a real one… I’ll give you that. What you ain’t… is boyfriend material,” she countered, passing the blunt toward Rose as he ducked his head back into the car.

He grabbed the cigar between two finger and shook his head at the two. It seemed like they’d been arguing since the day they met. Finn was already a loose fucking cannon, but Luna, she was with all the shits. The two came from similar backgrounds—parents fucked up and either died or abandoned them. Finn’s pops actually used to work for Max, and he got hit when Finn was a pre-teen. Max felt obligated to look out for him after that.

Finn draped his arm over the car seat and made sure he had a good view of Luna. Running his tongue across his lip sexily, he watched something flicker behind her pretty eyes. She was one of the most beautiful creatures God ever graced the world with. Unfortunately for Finn, she was as into playing games as he was, her smirk evidence of that. Finn always wanted a piece of her, and she turned down all his advances, downplaying it as Finn being Finn.

“Pssh, every bitch wish I was their nigga,” he assured her.

“That’s your problem. You only fuck with bitches,” Luna pointed out. “Not real women. Don’t get me wrong, I am that bitch, but I’m tired of niggas and their attitudes and ideals on what a woman should be. You’d rather fuck with these airhead, Barbie–built bitches who can’t cook, don’t clean, and sit aroundplotting and planning on all the ways to spend your money. Meanwhile, me and my girl here got two degrees just about under our belts, work for our own shit, and don’t allow a nigga to walk in like he runs some shit because, in all reality, y’all know what’s up.” Finn shook his head, but his dick was waking up.

He liked all that smart shit and always knew what to do with it. When a woman came at him like that he took that shit as a challenge to fuck all that attitude right out of her.

“Damn, so you trying to slide with me tonight or what, Luna? Quit playing with me and show me what I been missing.” Finn fucked with her, and with a blank expression she shook her head.

Finn was fine as hell, and she was attracted to him. That much was obvious. She didn’t want to go there with him and it fuck up the friendship. She and Minx were kind of in the same boat. Luna adored Finn and thought he was funny as shit. She was never one to put her heart on the line. She watched entirely too much heartache to put herself in that position.

“I said all that and you still just tryna fuck? That’s what the fuck I’m talking about, Finn.” Scoffing, she shook her head as Minx climbed back into the back seat beside her.

She had the blunt now, and her eyes were already low and chinky as hell. Rose settled in the front seat, tickled by the interaction. Shit made him miss home a little more. Finn started his car and backed out of his parking spot. Minx lived in midtown with her parents, in a decent sized, three story home surrounded by a twelve foot iron gate. Finn pulled up and put the code inn. When the gate swung open, he wheeled his car up and around the driveway, to the back of the house. After parking, he kept the car running.

“A’ight, y’all be easy. Rose, I’ll link with you tomorrow, nigga,” Finn called out as they both piled out of the car. “Getyour attitude having ass in the front seat.” He looked at Luna through the rearview mirror.

She rolled her eyes but climbed her thick ass over the seat, purposely giving him a view of her ass when her dress rolled up. Finn couldn’t take his eyes off her, biting hungrily into his bottom lip. He was starving for something right now, but it wasn’t fucking food. She plopped in the seat Rose left warm and pulled her dress down her thick thighs. Finn didn’t budge, and his eyes never left her pretty ass legs.
