“It isn’t,” Leo said. “And I’m glad we decided against it.”

“Only,” Regina said placing her hand on her stomach, “I kind of want it now.”

Leo didn’t say anything, just watched the rise and fall of her hand on her stomach.

“I want this baby Leo,” Regina said.

“Are you sure it isn’t because that psycho said you couldn’t have one?” he asked and Regina laughed. Blue and red lights pulsed on the wall. The police had arrived.

“No,” Regina said, “I want it because it’s yours; and I can never reject any part of you.”

Leo cupped her face in his hands.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said and she was sure.

“I love you so much,” Leo said and kissed her just as there was a knock on the front door. “Now let’s childproof the house and get this nut job out of here!”

Regina smiled as she watched him go to let the police in. Regina had been confused about this pregnancy but not anymore. She felt like she had been through too much with this child to say good bye. Plus so many women juggled career and children so why not Regina.

Regina closed her eyes for the fraction of a seconds worth of peace before the police started their interrogation to savor the idea of being a mother of Leo’s child. It didn’t sound half bad.
