“After the procedure,” I hasten to add.
Jason wraps his hand around my throat, tugging gently until I’m sprawled across his chest. He kisses me, hard, demanding.
When I’m finally about to burst out of my skin, I force myself upright, and then I start to ride him. His hands clench my hips, helping me rise and sink back onto his cock, and I love the delicious pressure that’s sure to bruise.
I love him.
Pleasure barrels into me like a freight truck, and it doesn’t take long before he shouts, his cock pulsing inside me.
Breathing hard, I collapse onto the mattress beside him, and he pulls me into his arms. I rest my head on his chest, the slight friction of the hair there abrading my cheek. My fingers go to the divot between his abs, the dips and grooves of his body a soothing texture.
“I think you should take the job.” The words come out before I even think about them.
Jason hums. “You do?”
“If you want it. It means we’d still travel together. We’d work together.” I swallow. “If you don’t… we can look for another job. Or you can take a few months or a year off.”
“I want the job,” he says firmly. “I don’t know if I want to be a head bench boss one day, but I like the idea of coaching the younger guys. I already did it for years as captain.”
“And we’ll stay in Boston?”
“For as long as you want,” he says. “If Brandon gets traded, would you follow him?”
I wince. “Probably. Not him specifically, but Ty. And Ainsley.”
“She’s such a cutie. I can’t wait to spoil her rotten.”
Looking up at him, I find a fond smile on his face. “You’d spoil her?”
“She’s your niece. It’s my right as your partner to shower her with gifts and feed her sugar before giving her back to your brothers.” He chuckles. “My siblings live too far away. I like my nieces and nephews, but I don’t have the same relationship with them that you do with Ainsley. Hell, I barely talk to my siblings.”
“That can change. We can spend more time with them now that you won’t be playing.”
His shoulder lifts beneath me as he shrugs. “Maybe. I’m good with Ty and Brando, though. Family is about the people you choose to keep in your life.” Jason blows out a breath. “When we go to the lake this summer, you’ll come with me?”
“You couldn’t keep me away.”
“You say that now,” he mutters. “They might scare you off.”
I set my hand over his heart, the reassuring thudding settling my nerves. “Nothing will scare me off. Not your family. Not your teammates. Not even your stinky hockey gear.”
He laughs. “Good. ‘Cause I’d kind of like to keep you.”
“Oh, Jase,” I murmur. “You’ve already got me.”
