“I mean with everything you’ve been dealin’ with I can see how it feels like that,” Yas acknowledged as she stood at the counter peeling potatoes. “But for me it took forever for the holidays to finally get here. With me takin’ off two weeks this summer I wasn’t able to take off the full month of December like I normally would. Anywho those last two weeks in December I wasn’t gonna be spendin’ it workin’ in no prison.”
“I know that’s right. It definitely wasn’t the same with you workin’ the first half but I’m glad you did come with us over the summer. You needed that break too. Plus, I ain’t wanna be alone with Nas ass back then.”
“And clearly that’s changed because now that nigga stayin’ with y’all.”
“Girl, yes. He moved in after the kidnappin’ situation but he’s sleeping in a spare room. I’m still shocked my ass agreed to the shit.”
“Hell, I’m not.”
“Yas!”
“Girl, you the only one still frontin’ like you don’t want that man. And them sleeping arrangements only gonna last but so long.”
“Chyy.”
“Yeah, that’s all yo’ ass can say because you know I’m right. Speakin’ of yo’ BD where did him and Chance run off to?”
“Girl, if you wanna know where Chance went, just ask ‘bout him. They went to go grab some more last minute gifts for the girls.”
“The girls already got more than enough shit piled up in my downstairs room. What more could they need? And I hope they don’t expect us to wrap all this shit up.”
“Oh, you know I already let both their ass know that gift wrapping is on them. Especially since we’re cookin’ Christmas Eve dinner.”
“That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout I can’t wait for this food to get done so I can walk it like a dog. Is Daphne comin’?”
“Yeah, I ordered her an Uber not too long ago so she should be here soon. She’s gonna occupy the girls and help them build the gingerbread house while we cook.”
“Perfect!”
As I finished I continued to season the chicken, I thought back over the past few weeks with Nas here. It felt as if he were waiting on me hand and foot with how attentive he’d been with my needs and cravings. He’d taken the place of Mama Eva because she was the same way when I was pregnant the first time. To still have that kind of support was refreshing, especially coming from Nas. Because he was able to cater to every need I had including sexually. It was maybe night three of him moving in that I got a glimpse of him without his shirt and became putty in his hands as he had his way with me that night.
Yas was right the only thing I could say was ‘chyy’ because I hadn’t been standing on business. Every time I felt lonely or horny, Nas would end up in my bed. Sometimes it would be to fuck the shit out of me but most of time it was just cuddling. With him handling the threat against our family I’d felt safer with him. Honestly, it felt like we’d naturally fallen into a relationship, but nothing had been discussed officially yet.
“We’re back,” Nas announced as him and Chance entered the kitchen. “It smells good in here.”
“That’s the chicken I just placed in the oven not to long ago,” I admitted as I gathered everything I needed to make some honey cornbread. “Are all of them bags for the girls?”
“It may be a bag or two for you. Why?”
“Because they already got so much shit in that room now.”
“You couldn’t have expected me to take it easy for my first Christmas home. And a nigga got money too.”
“Ok, don’t say shit to me when she expects this same energy movin’ forward.”
“That’ll be just fine,” he stuck his tongue out as they continued through the kitchen to Yas’s room.
The doorbell rung as I filled a big pot with water to boil the potatoes. Yas went to answer the door just as Nas walked back into the kitchen. Once we were alone, he pulled me into him before placing a hand on my ass. With the other hand, he lifted my chin to place a tender kiss on my lips. This was actually why I’d felt like we fell into a relationship.
“How you and Nash doin’ today?” He asked as he looked in my eyes.
“We’re doin’ good today,” I blushed before biting the inside of my mouth. The way he’d just woken my body up had me ready to fuck the shit out him. “Just happy that you’re home now.”
“Let me find out you missed a nigga.”
“Maybe.”
“Keep it up and watch I’ma have you sittin’ on Santa’s lap later tonight.’
