I lie there, breathing heavily against her neck. I lift my head and brush my mouth over hers. “I don’t want to move.”

“So, don’t.” She brushes her fingers through my hair. “We can clean up later.”

But we don’t clean up. We fall asleep there together, wrapped up in each other.

Charly

“You got everything?” Vaughn asks me as he puts our bags in the trunk of his car.

“Yep.”

It’s time to head back to Vegas. We’re driving over to Vaughn’s parents’, and then his dad is going to drive us to the airport and bring Vaughn’s car back.

I’m really sad to be leaving. I’ve had the best time here with him. I don’t want it to be over.

“Here’s your cell,” he says, handing it to me.

God, my cell.

I can’t believe I haven’t used it all weekend. I didn’t even come out to the car to check my messages. I was too busy having fun with Vaughn and his family. Three days without it, and I survived. And I didn’t even miss it. Go figure. I didn’t even miss watching TV. They have a TV at his mom and dad’s house, and it was on during the times we went over there, but I didn’t even bother watching it.

I enjoyed the quiet at Vaughn’s. The disconnection to the outside world. Maybe I should do it more often.

Part of me doesn’t even want to go back to the real world yet. But I guess I have to sometime.

I press the button to wake my cell up, but the screen stays black. I push it again, and I get the red battery sign.

“My phone’s dead,” I tell him.

“Yeah, mine is, too.” Vaughn chuckles, looking down at his. “That always happens when I come here. Leave it turned on in my car, and the battery just drains. You can charge it in the car if you want. I have a charger in there for occasions such as this.”

I smile at him and then drop my phone in my bag. “No, I’m good. I’ll wait till I get back to Vegas. Charge it up there.”

“You sure?” he checks. “I know how much you love it.”

“Not as much as I’ve loved being here.”

He stares at me for a moment and then comes over, resting his arms over my shoulders. I tip my head back, looking up at him.

“I’ve loved having you here,” he tells me.

I smile, my heart doubling in size.

“And I’m not going to charge my phone either.”

“No?”

“No. I’m not ready for this weekend to be over.” His eyes smile at me.

My insides light up. “Me neither.” I lift up on my toes and softly kiss his lips. “Let’s drag it out for as long as we can.”

“Forever?” he says.

I touch my hand to his face. “If only.”

He presses a kiss to the palm of my hand. “We’d best get moving. We’ve got that flight to catch.”

We get in the car, and Vaughn drives us over to his parents’. His dad is already outside, waiting on us.
