TIFFANY RAMIREZ: UPDATE

The Bahamian Maritime Authority has issued an update on the case of missing dancer Tiffany Ramirez (24) who disappeared from the $1.3 billion Voyager Eclipse cruise ship in June last year. It was initially thought she’d gone overboard on June 5 as Voyager Cruises claimed there was a record of her returning after a trip ashore in Bridgetown on June 4.

A verdict of death by suicide was challenged by Ms. Ramirez’s family in Wynwood, Miami (US), and last month the FBI agreed to reexamine the case. Their investigation revealed inconsistencies in documents that had seemed to confirm she was on board when the ship left Bridgetown at 7:01 a.m. on June 5. Now it is thought she never returned to the ship having disembarked the previous night. This development places the case in the hands of the Barbados Police Service.

Ms. Ramirez’s father, Guillermo, said, “Her mother and I have been estranged from Tiffany these last couple of years, but we know she would not have taken her own life. We need to find out the truth so welcome these new developments. In the meantime we must cling to hope that Bridgetown Police will find out what happened to our beautiful daughter.”

Barbados Police Service in Bridgetown have opened up a case file and request that anyone with information about what might have happened to Ms. Ramirez when she left the Voyager Eclipse on June 4 should call in confidence and speak to Inspector David Lascelles.

Kevin and Sarah-Jane MacDonald

There is tension between Kevin and Sarah-Jane that we’ve not seen before. Kevin doesn’t defer to his wife as often or as passively as he used to. Their bickering betrays real animosity. E.g., the exchange on April 25 when he refuses to get the bagels, then when Sarah-Jane mentions Karen’s boyfriend, Mark, Kevin says, “What do you mean by ‘eye candy’? You’ve never described anyone like that, ever.”
