Nicky-Rose has planted class A drugs, intending the police to get Trina—and possibly Issy as well—arrested.

Charlotte

Nicky-Rose bulks out the envelope with pages of the script to make it look like it contains the documents Trina wants.

But Trina could look inside and check at any moment, then refuse to hand over the cash.

Charlotte

Which is why Nicky-Rose needs a runner—Issy—who doesn’t know the background to the exchange.

Charlotte

And why it takes place in public. Those two factors mean Trina can’t make a scene about what is or isn’t in the envelope. One: Issy doesn’t know. Two: if she refuses to hand over the cash, everyone in the coffee shop will hear the altercation.

Charlotte

From what we’ve read, it seems she doesn’t look. She trusts Nicky-Rose, as NR trusted her. But it still seems like a huge risk.

Femi

Well, the plan works. Trina is arrested. As Dustin says in his email to Carol on April 27, the police are “prioritizing targets: ‘overlooking’ menial runners and going for the higher-ups.” That policy saves Issy and the play.

Femi

But when she realizes how she’s been used, she takes the friendship bracelet off. Her period of limerence for Nicky-Rose is over.

Charlotte

Inspector Lascelles has a ticket for the first night of the play.

Femi

Nicky-Rose disappears before the play starts. I suspect she sees him and runs.

Charlotte

How does this tie in with Father Josh’s murder and Fran’s confession? Neither has anything to do with Nicky-Rose. Do they?
