He didn’t know.

He wasn’t around then.

I looked over to our table, mentally begging Erik or Hartman to glance up at me.

“Sorry, I totally spaced getting your name earlier.” Elena said with a smile.

I blinked and met Elena’s gaze. “Colin.”

She beamed. “Lucy, this is Colin.”

I looked back down at the woman that’s haunted my dreams for five years.

To my surprise, Lucy met my eyes and gave me the tiniest smile. “Nice to meet you.”

I froze. Didn’t she remember me? There was no way she could forget.

Right?

I swallowed the lump in my throat and nodded. “You too.”

Elena tugged on Grant’s arm. “We’re here for a bachelorette party, but the other girls are a little too crazy for us. We’re actually thinking of hitting the hot tub later. Meet us there?”

My eyes dropped to Lucy’s left hand. I couldn’t help it. I had to check.

She must have seen. She tucked her hand in her lap and looked back up at me. “Elena can meet you there. I don’t think my fiancé would appreciate me meeting you guys.”

There it was like a bomb.

She was engaged. Wait. I looked at Elena who looked almost as confused as I felt.

I nodded with a forced smile. “Where’s your ring?”

Grant stepped forward. “Yeah, don’t girls love showing those off?”

Lucy glared at me. “It’s getting resized.”

Elena cleared her throat. “Yeah. It’s back home. Perfect timing since we had this trip planned. I was just hoping I’d get her to relax this week. Ya know, get all of her singleness out. Make sure she doesn’t miss out on anything before getting married.”

Grant nodded like he bought it, but I had a feeling we were being lied to. By both of them.

“How about we meet at nine?” His gaze didn’t leave Elena. “I think there’s a show tonight.”

She agreed, and I gave Lucy one last look before walking away with Grant.

Once we were out of earshot I sighed.

“Sorry about that,” Grant said. “I thought Elena said she had a single friend for you, too.”

I shook my head. “That’s not it.”

“What’s wrong?”

I waited until we were at the table before answering him. I sat, finally putting my full plate down.

Olli looked up and smiled. “How were they?”

I met his eyes and almost crumbled. “Lucy’s here.”
