I followed his instruction instructively.

Suddenly I was in the air. His arms carried me over him. His eyes flickered between me and the area in front of us.

I leaned forward, lifting my legs until I was parallel to the ice. My cheer habits kicked in, and I lifted one leg higher and brought my arms back until I was in a scorpion pose.

He spun once before gently lowering me.

Cheers broke out around us, breaking the spell I was under.

We stopped skating, facing each other, and smiled. “That was awesome,” he said.

“Magical.”

Our time ran out faster than I expected, and we joined Eli and Sophia at the entrance to the main building.

“Where are we going now?”

Eli pulled something from his back pocket and waved his hand in front of his face like he was fanning himself.

Sophia reached for the papers and pulled his hand so we could read them.

“Top of the Rock?”

I looked to Liam for a hint.

“We’re going to the top of the building.”

Sophia was beaming, but I was confused. “I don’t get it.”

“Most people go to the top of the Empire State building.” I nodded while Sophia spoke. The guys opened the door for us and we entered the building. “This is a slightly lesser-known place, but it has better views in my opinion.”

I followed them through the halls and up the elevator. We presented our tickets and within ten minutes of entering we were headed to the top. I looked down at my ticket and saw that there was a time printed on it. We left the museum with just enough time to get over here and go ice skating. How did they plan that?

“Liam, what if I hadn’t wanted to go ice skating?”

He smirked. “I had a pretty good feeling you’d want to.”

“But how? I didn’t even tell Sophia I wanted to.”

He shrugged. “I knew it was already set up, and it seemed like something you’d like.”

The way he said it was so nonchalant, but it meant so much to me that he was thinking of me. He planned this whole day for me…and Sophia. No other guy had ever gone to such lengths.

“Thank you.” It came out as a whisper, and I was a bit embarrassed my emotions were showing through.

Instead of responding, he reached for my hand and pulled me tightly against him. We walked out of the elevator doors and I gasped. In front of us was a glass wall giving us an unobstructed view of the city.

Straight in front of us was the Empire State building. And instantly, I understood.

Why stand on top of the gorgeous building looking around when you could see it from here?

“Let’s walk around then you can take pictures.”

I followed half a step behind Liam trying to see everything. When we got to the opposite side of the building I froze.

“Central park.”

Luckily, there weren’t too many people around so I rushed toward the glass and claimed a spot.
