“So far.” Haley was practically bouncing in her chair.

I held up a hand. “Are you serious? Those three are looking into you?”

Reid’s smile could have lit up the restaurant. “Yeah. Nothing’s in writing or anything, but they’ve seen me play and are interested. It’s a really big step.”

“No, I know. I know.” I shook my head. “I can’t believe it. That’s amazing. I’m … wow. Congratulations.”

This was surreal. Life-altering. Probably the biggest news any of them had ever had, and they invited me to share in it. I was honored.

“Thanks, but I’m not the only one.”

I looked around. “All of you?”

The guys nodded.

“Benji, you go next,” Hunter said, earning him a punch in the arm.

“Don’t call me that.” Benjamin glared at him before turning to us. “Tampa Bay, Boston, and Los Angeles.”

Wow. Those were some big teams. I mean, interest from anyone was a huge deal, but I was impressed.

“Dang, man. That’s incredible.” Reid grinned. “I guess we should have tried harder to push you out of the captain spot.”

Benjamin rolled his eyes. “Yeah, because that’s the only reason they want me.”

“It’s true,” Hunter said.

I giggled. “What about you?”

He sat up. “Vancouver and Edmonton.”

“Oh, Canada,” Haley sang before trailing off. “I don’t know any other words.”

Hunter chuckled. “I’ll teach you the rest if that’s where I end up.”

I squeezed Ethan’s hand. “And what about you?”

He glanced around before meeting my eyes. “Nashville.”

I fought to keep my expression blank. Tennessee. That wasn’t too far.

“Calgary.”

Okay. That was a bit more complicated.

“And Pittsburgh.”

The table let out a gasp, and I stared at him. Did I hear that right, or was it what I wanted to hear?

“Pittsburgh?” I repeated.

A slow grin spread across his lips.

“Like, here?” I tapped the table.

He moved my finger down a little. “More like here, but only by twenty minutes.”
