Then again… maybe not. People don't spend the entire year living in their vacation cabins. I try to force a little common sense into my head, which isn't easy when you've been getting fucked in heat by a forest fae.
There's another problem. I can feel dried streaks of semen on my thighs and across my ass. I need to deal with that too.
I back out because I remember there's another door leading from the main room.
Just as I expected, it's a small bathroom. Whoever built it made sure everything here was made from natural materials. The walls are covered with stone tiles, and there's even a stone bathtub. I have no idea how it's heated because when I turn the rather old-fashioned faucet, warm water begins flowing immediately. I don't hear any kind of heater, and there's no window in the room, so I have no idea how it works.
I quickly climb into the tub and let the warm water run over me. There's soap too, an eco-friendly bar made with only a handful of ingredients. Apparently, the owner values nature and keeps chemicals to a minimum, even in cosmetics. Hmm. A certain someone does the same. What a curious coincidence.
I scrub myself clean with the wonderful natural soap, then dry off with a linen towel.
A moment later, I leave the bathroom.
Back at the wardrobe room, I search through it again and, cursing under my breath, pull on a pair of pants that were obviously made for someone much taller than me.
After rolling up the pant legs and pulling on my boots, I step outside the forest cabin dressed like this.
The door isn't locked, which is reassuring. The mysterious green entity isn't trying to keep me here against my will.
Looking around, I spot what seems to be a faint set of tire tracks pressed into the grass. Does some jeep actually make it out here?
Well… I guess it has to. This place is stocked with all kinds of supplies. Someone had to bring them here.
But now I have something far more urgent to deal with. I roughly remember the direction we came from, so I head that way. It wasn't a long walk, but the farther I go, the more uncertain I become. Was it really here? Or did we veer a little farther left? Maybe a little farther right?
Fear and frustration build inside me. Dusk has already settled over the forest. It must be around five in the afternoon. Long shadows stretch between the trees.
Finally, I reach the clearing.
The first thing that catches my eye is a beautiful circle of flowers surrounding the spot where we had the explosive sex.
I stare in shock.
It looks… magical. Unreal.
The flowers grew around us.
But… why?
My thoughts are interrupted when I catch sight of my backpack lying some distance away. It's open.
"Shit," I mutter as I walk over, remembering I'd left a sandwich inside. Whatever found it scattered the rest of my belongings too. Some small animal, maybe a fox or something similar.
Unfortunately, it gets even worse. During all that messy scavenging, it dragged out my phone as well, and now it's lying face-up in the wettest part of the entire clearing.
"Goddamn it, my luck!" I mutter under my breath.
The worst part is that I can already feel another wave of heat building inside me. My thighs keep pressing together on their own, my body burns, as I kneel there staring at my useless phone. Water must've gotten inside because it's completely dead. I wipe it off, blow into the charging port, try everything I can think of, but nothing happens. The damn thing is fried.
Just perfect. Alex won't panic yet. I told him to wait twenty-four hours before worrying, and I've only been gone twelve, maybe thirteen. Still, if I can't find another phone, I'm in trouble. Poor Alex is going to drive himself crazy wondering what happened to me.
And what about Tommy? His dad is caught in a crazy—
Another cramp tears through my body.
Fuck… damn it, what now? I grab the phone and turn back toward the cabin, walking slowly because I don't want to raise my heart rate. Last time that was enough to trigger another wave.
By the time I reach the cabin, something feels different. For some reason I know exactly where he is this time. It's almost as if I can sense a powerful presence inside.
