When he gently, feather-lightly, ran the ball of his tongue ring over her clit, she cried out and shoved her hands in his hair. A growl came from deep within him as she held his head against her pussy and squeezed her thighs around his head. Just when she worried she’d smother him, he gripped her ass harder, pulled her tighter to his mouth, and switched from gentle to aggressive in his assault on her senses.

Stephanie’s head fell back on her shoulders, and her mind muddled as she gave into the full body pleasure this man wrought from her.

When this was all said and done, there was a good chance she’d be going to hell or prison. At least she’d have the memory of this man eating her straight to heaven.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

STEPH RUBBED HER arms as she shivered and bounced on the balls of her feet. A surprise cool front had blown in overnight, stealing the sun and the warm days that had made early fall in Tennessee a pleasant experience.

Now, after wandering about fifty feet out into the woods, she was regretting her clothing choice. Should have worn more than the Hell’s Handlers’ hoodie she’d pilfered from Mav. She lifted a way-too-long sleeve to her nose and inhaled. Smelled like Maverick. A hint of smoke from the clubhouse, whatever deodorant he used, and sex appeal, if that had a scent.

The combination of comfort and excitement from being wrapped in his essence made up for the shivering and foolish lack of a jacket.

Geez, she was becoming a sap.

From its home in her back pocket, the Bureau phone vibrated. She glanced at the screen as she tugged it out. Five p.m. on the dot. “Agent Little,” she answered.

“Tell me you’ve got something for me, Little. And tell me it’s something that will make up for all the shit I’ve been in since Daniel screwed everything up. I’m chomping at the bit to tear down these mother fucking bikers. The girl who appeared at the hospital has been closed-mouthed as a fucking mime. Can’t get her to say shit. The bikers must have scared the piss out of her. Threatened to come after her again or something.”

Steph waited, letting him rant until he ran out of steam. Rocket wouldn’t have threatened the girl. Just told her like it was. It might take some time, but the Handlers would end Lefty. They’d make sure no one ever came after her again. But she’d have to keep quiet about both Lefty being the kidnapper and the Handlers’ role in rescuing her.

And she’d be just as guilty as the MC. Hell, she knew what the end result woudl be and she’d had the resources at the tip of her fingers to make Shark and King pay through legal and just measures. Yet, she didn’t utter a word of it.

Turned out, the promise of revenge was a powerful motivator and trumped what she’d once called justice.

“Little? Fucking talk to me.”

Shit. “Sorry, sir.” She cleared her throat. “The Handlers didn’t take the girl. They aren’t involved in any way with human trafficking. They don’t even run prostitutes. Haven’t since before Copper took over as president.”

Her statement was met with nothing but frustrated breaths. “Don’t tell me you have nothing for me, Little. Your ass will be riding a desk until it chafes.”

“Sir, with all due respect, there isn’t anything here. These men don’t run women.” What made this so frustrating was that it was the goddamned truth. But she couldn’t admit they’d rescued the woman because she’d have to admit to knowledge of their plan to go after Lefty and eventually knowledge of what happened to Shark and King.

“Fuck,” he spat out. “What about the biker who brought the girl to the hospital? You’re telling me that wasn’t a Handler?”

“That’s what I’m telling you. There are thousands of tourists here this time of year. Many come to ride their motorcycles through the mountain roads. It wasn’t the Handlers, sir. First off, they don’t ride without their colors, and second, there isn’t any evidence, or even any thread to pull ,indicating they are involved.”

She could practically see his face turning red and a cartoonish vein popping out of his head. “What a clusterfuck. What about Shark and King’s murders? Tell me you have something to pin on the Handlers.”

Here’s where it got tricky, because this was where nothing but lies began. She’d worked it all out in her head, but had to word everything with care. Baccarella would look into anything she gave him to the best of his ability, and if things didn’t add up, her ass would be roasting over hot coals faster than Mav could make her come. And he was damn gifted. Suddenly, she was no longer feeling the cold but sweating with apprehension.

“Sir, I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but it’s not looking like the Handlers are the ones who killed either man. From all accounts, they arrived and discovered Maverick passed out in front of Shark’s cabin. There were a few other dead Dragons as well, one was probably King, but no one here knew him. Maverick woke in the hospital and told them about me. Jigsaw and Screw went back and found me in the basement. Just like I’ve been telling you all along.”
