I don’t know what I expect, but him leaning down to suck on my defiled chest wasn’t it. After he does it, he’s dragging himself off and landing on his side, and I follow suit, not caring that the bed or myself are a sticky mess.
Adam pushes a few twists behind my shoulder, cupping my face.
He opens his mouth to speak, as I watch the change happen. It’s no longer Adam’s post-orgasm gaze, instead it’s a worried Slayer lying before me.
The Slayer cups my cheek and looks over my body.
“Are you okay, my Iris? I didn’t realize the human was such a brute. I should have stopped him. I shouldn’t have gotten carried away. It was too much.”
I grab his wrist and shake my head.
“I’m fine. I promise. I loved every second of it.” I kiss his wrist and he seems to relax. “You need to let Adam come back, okay?”
The Slayer does not look happy with me asking that.
“It has nothing to do with me not wanting you right now at all. We just need to both come down after what happened together, okay?”
The Slayer looks down at my chest, a groan falls out of his lips as he meets my request.
Adam is back in front of me looking annoyed that the Slayer took over so abruptly, but he doesn’t harp on it.
“Let’s get you cleaned up,” Adam says, and before I can reply, he’s grabbing me like I weigh nothing and carrying me to the shower.
I whistle, sending my wand careening into my hand. With a quick flick of my wrist, I have the sheets thrown off the bed and new sheets floating in the air, putting themselves onto the defiled bed.
“That’s very handy,” Adam jokes and I give him a shrug.
He starts the water as he looks over at me. His strong hands are gentle, but possessive at the same time.
“Was there anything you didn’t like?” he asks me and I can’t help but let a small laugh rip out of me.
“I enjoyed every second of it,” I say, feeling almost in a feather light state.
Adam gives me a nod. He puts my shower cap on for me, without me even asking as he hauls me into the shower. I mostly rest against him as he cleans me off.
Damn, it feels unbelievable to be so cared for. Maybe I tear up, but Adam doesn’t mention it. He just cleans me, holds me like a pillar of strength, and I let myself soak up his assuredness.
He dries me off and puts one of his T-shirts on me as we crawl into bed.
The weight of Scarlett on the bed is my only indication that she’s back in the apartment.
“I know I was all for you getting with the Slayer, but I didn’t realize that it meant the apartment would smell like a brothel.”
I snort at her words, not even replying as I fall asleep in Adam’s arms.
Chapter 40
Iris
“Are you going to come out and talk to me, Slayer?” I ask soothingly as Adam and I drink coffee at the kitchen table.
It’s hard not to blush when I think about how good last night was. Adam is easy going as he sips from his mug and I can’t help but to think he’s reliving last night in his head too.
However, the Slayer has been quiet and I need to make sure he’s okay after last night for multiple reasons. I want to know how he felt about everything, but more importantly, we need to talk about Jesse.
The last slayer could potentially be on to us, with the other two going missing.
We need to act fast.
