When we began to move, she moved with us. And being the generous person she was, she invited Sy too, grabbing onto his hips and taking care of him with her mouth.

The bathroom was filled with the sounds of wet skin slapping against skin, and moans that grew louder the more we moved together. It took us a while to find the rhythm but once we were no longer sloppy?

It was magic.

I didn't know who finished first, but the rest of us followed soon enough, and we collapsed together on the cold tile of the bathroom floor.

Our limbs were tangled up, but we laughed in low, hushed voices, kind of in awe.

Eventually, Lane spoke first.

“So. We're probably gonna have to try the shower again. And for real this time.”

Dax and I snorted.

“It's a good thing the water pressure is top notch,” said Sy and Lane shook her head, climbing over us until she could reach him.

“You're such a damn dork, Sy,” she said, then kissed him with so much passion that he practically did the foot-pop thing.

A dork indeed.

After an actual wash up, the four of us curled up on Lane's tiny bed, picking at the snack board she made and sipping champagne.

The atmosphere was relaxing and calm, but I could tell that Lane was kind of distracted. I tapped her chin softly.

“Hey. What are you thinking about?”

“Just how fast the last few months have gone. You guys actually finished the project,” she said, sounding distant.

“Yeah. That's a good thing, no? You get to go back to your normal life without all the disruptions,” Sy said, giving her a lopsided smile.

She bit the inside of her cheek, looking nervous and for a second I worried that she wouldn't tell us what was bothering her. She propped herself up on her elbows and looked at each of us before speaking again.

“I wanted to say that I hope you guys know that just because the job is done, doesn't mean that this,” she gestured between the four of us. “Has to be over.”

“Are you suggesting we start instituting group booty calls, Red?” Dax said with his usual snark.

I frowned at him, but Lane paused. She took a deep breath. “No. I don't mean as a fun hookup once a month. I mean a proper relationship. I… I have feelings for all of you. Each one.”

We were stunned into silence. It wasn't that what she was saying was crazy, but that it was gutsy. That was one of the things I loved about her.

Loved.

“I love you,” she said quietly. Her eyes flickered to mine. “I love you, Barrett Wade.”

My throat swelled up.

She turned to Miller. “And I love you, Dax Miller.” His eyes glistened but he didn't say anything.

Lastly, she turned to Sy. “And I love you, Silas Parrish. You're the best men I've ever met and I don't want my life to go back to the old ‘normal’. I'm hoping you'll stick around long enough to create a new one.”

Sy slipped an arm around her, kissing her shoulder. “I love you, Lane. So much it drives me crazy. Yes, I'd like to stay with you.”

Big words from the man who held out the longest. But Dax and I followed soon after because it was true. I knew the other two felt the same way about Lane as confidently as I knew my own heart.

We were hers, she was ours, and we weren't planning on going anywhere.
