I reached up and stroked his cheek with the back of my hand. “I just need you to surround me with your body until tomorrow morning.”
“I can do that,” he said, helping me to sit up. “Wait here while I walk Benny. I’ll help you to bedroom.”
He kissed my forehead and Benny jumped up, tail wagging as Bennett headed to the kitchen for his leash. I smiled at the sight of them together.
Note to self: Make sure Bennett always has a dog.
Chapter Twenty-Five
Bennett
June
I rolled over in bed as light shined into our room and pulled Felix’s back against my chest. We were wearing only boxer briefs, and it was getting harder to ignore the way it felt to have his skin against mine, specifically the way it made my dick ache all night long.
We’d been bonded for a week, and in the few days since we’d been home from the hospital there had been no sign of Ryder and Calvin. I was starting to think they’d both run off. Julia hadn’t been found yet either. Maybe she was with them, or maybe she’d gotten spooked and left town. She clearly knew something she wasn’t supposed to know—or at the very least was spilling secrets she probably wasn’t supposed to spill.
Felix was recovering well, and his broken leg was the only thing that still caused him difficulty. He was able to get around on the crutches, but he was anxiously awaiting the walking boot he was going to receive next week. If all went well, he’d be able to wear that and bear weight on his leg again. He seemed most excited about going back to work and putting all of this behind us.
I wasn’t quite as ready to leave the bubble of our house as he was. I’d closed the garage since Calvin’s disappearance, and I had no desire to go back there yet. I liked the lazy days with Felix at home. We’d never gotten to spend this much time together watching TV and playing games. I had no idea that Felix was an absolute shark at poker until two days ago, and learning new things about him filled me with joy in a way that I desperately needed after almost losing him.
Being betrayed by Calvin, not just in business but in his participation in Felix’s overdose, made me feel like an idiot. Despite multiple conversations with Reid and Wyatt about it, I still wasn’t feeling great about myself. I knew I should have fired him a long time ago just based on his work ethic, but I had no idea what he’d been doing in my shop, or how many people would now be expecting something from me in his absence that I wouldn’t be providing. Do people think I know what’s been going on? Or do they just think I’m stupid enough to have missed it all these years? They’d be right about the latter, but it’s embarrassing all the same.
“I think I’m going to rebrand,” I said as Felix rolled over to face me. I knew he was awake; it was just one of the many new things I could feel through our bond. I loved every sensation and feeling of his that I got to experience with him.
“The garage?” he asked sleepily. He rubbed his eyes and I kissed his forehead.
“Yeah. There’s a spot over near the lake that’s been for sale for years. I think I’ll sell the place I have and buy that. It’s smaller, but I don’t need all the space I have now, and then I can rename the place. Maybe do a grand reopening event or something.”
“You want to distance yourself from Calvin?” He wrapped his arm around my waist and his hard cock pressed into mine.
At least I’m not the only one perpetually horny. This bond needs to be consummated.
“Yes. I never made the garage my own. I ran it just like Tom did. I didn’t even change the name from Tom’s Auto. Do you know how many tourists ask me if my name is Tom?”
Felix laughed. “I think it’s a great idea, Bennett. You deserve a place that feels like your own.”
“Reid can probably create a new logo and a few signs for me. If they ever catch Calvin, Wyatt could issue a statement making it clear that I was not involved and announcing the change in business. I make enough on my appointments alone. I don’t need to hire someone else to do detailing. At least not right away. I feel like this is what I need to do. The thought of going back to the garage as it is, where I got the call about your accident…” I shuddered. “I genuinely don’t think I can do it.”
“Then let’s build something new for you. I’ll help with anything you need on my days off.”
I lowered my mouth to his and gently parted his lips with my tongue. He moaned, and I pulled him closer, rutting against him. “I need you,” I said, reluctantly leaving his lips to scent his neck. “I don’t know how much longer I can hold back.”
“You can have me, you know,” Felix said. “I’ve been telling you that for days. I’m not going to break.”
“Let’s go shower,” I said. As badly as I wanted him, I was terrified that fucking him and claiming him the way my body wanted to would still be too much for him. A setback in his recovery because I couldn’t keep my dick in my pants would gut me.
Felix rolled on top of me, grinding his hips and pressing our cocks together. “Fine, but we’re going to have sex in there.”
I groaned as he shoved his tongue in my mouth. I pulled him closer, meeting his tongue stroke for stroke, despite the hesitation I still felt.
“Stop worrying about me, Bennett,” he whispered.
“Impossible,” I mumbled around his mouth.
“Then trust me to know what I can handle,” he said sternly as he pulled back and offered me his hand.
“Okay,” I said, taking it and letting him pull me out of bed. I followed him to the ensuite bathroom where he started the shower.
