I put on a smirk. “I am his Daddy, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting him here. I couldn’t imagine life without him now.”
Ralphie stopped moving. His eyes went wide. He looked like he was seconds away from crying. I hated to think I’d upset him, but at the same time I was glad to know that my boy was so well loved. That he had others in his life who wanted to see him happy.
Sylmen shifted beside me, wiggling his hips. He was probably wet by now. Sure enough, when I checked him I could feel the bulge of the diaper.
“I’ve got to hop off here and take care of my boy. It was nice to meet you, Ralphie. Hopefully, I will get to see you again soon.”
“I’m happy for you. He’s a hottie. Bye.”
The phone call clicked off before I could say anything else. I tossed it to the side of the bed, then eased my boy onto his back and hovered over him.
“I think someone needs a diaper change.”
His eyes blinked open slowly as his mouth continued the sucking motion. I wished I had a pacifier on me. In a moment of clarify, I realized I did. It was part of the supplies I had them bring up.
I went over to the box of items I’d requested and pulled out the brand-new adult-sized pacifier. I ripped open the packaging and returned to my boy, placing it between his lips. He sucked on it happily, his body relaxing back into the mattress.
“Good boy,” I said, rubbing my hand over his cheek. “Let Daddy change you and then I’ll start getting you ready for bed.”
While it was somewhat early, I knew that he needed his rest. Tomorrow would be a new day with lots to explore. I wanted to see if there were any Little classes he wanted to take. I also wanted a chance to take him out to see the farm animals.
From what I understood, the person he’d been eating with was one who worked in that area, which led me to believe that maybe my boy had a soft spot there too. I didn’t know for certain, but most Littles were fans of soft and fuzzy, so I was willing to take the chance.
Once I got him all changed and fastened into a new diaper, I lifted him into my arms. He wrapped around me this time. I couldn’t complain—this was much closer, much more affectionate. The way his face nestled into the crook of my neck made me happier than I could ever remember being. Every new thing we explored together added to the connection we had. It made me feel more like his Daddy, like I was taking good care of him.
At the crib, I lowered the side with one hand, then eased my boy down. I laid his head on the pillow and pulled the blanket up over him. When I stepped away, it was to look him over. I could feel my eyes prick with tears.
I voiced my thoughts aloud. “You’re so perfect, sweet boy.”
He blinked those big brown eyes up at me. I knew that he loved the praise. Leaning over the edge, I pressed a kiss to his forehead, tucked the snail in beside him, then raised the side of the crib.
“Daddy is going to get ready for bed now. If you need me, you can shake this tiny bell.”
I went to the box where I had gotten the pacifier and pulled out a tiny golden bell. I knew that with Sylmen not having his voice, and me having set his phone aside, I had to have an alternative. And while he could have done something like rattle the side of the crib, I didn’t want him to have to reach for anything bigger than necessary. Shaking a little bell kept him in a small mindset. Besides, if he did drift back into his Big mind, he could always climb out. Not that I wanted him to. The idea of taking care of him all the time was a strong desire on my part, and I suspected on his as well.
Once I felt he was resting peacefully, I went to the bathroom to do as I told him I would. I brushed my teeth then checked to make sure all of the doors were locked and that there was nothing left to be done. I set an alarm for the morning on my phone, then silenced Sylmen’s. There would be no need for him to communicate with anyone tonight. Not when he was giving me control. Everyone else could wait till morning.
I turned every light off except for the small one beside the bed. Climbing under the covers, I leaned against the headboard. For several long minutes, I watched him sleep from my position on the bed. It was astonishing how quickly I had fallen for him. How deeply I loved my boy when we had only just met.
Even with the short amount of time, I knew my feelings were real. I knew that this bond between us didn’t need a timeline. It didn’t follow conventional rules.
I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. And that meant making some changes. Changes that my friend Corrin had already agreed were easy enough to do.
It also meant changes for Sylmen too, because I was going to follow him to the ends of the earth… wherever that was. While I wanted to keep him in Little-space, I knew that we had to have a Big conversation as well. Maybe tomorrow morning I could speak with him about it.
Until then, I would rest knowing that no matter where we were going, we would be together. I knew it just as well as I knew I was a Daddy.
Nothing would keep me from my boy.
Chapter Fifteen
Sylmen
It took me a few minutes to realize I was in the crib when I woke up. My brain was still fuzzy, the Little in me very much at the surface, but the Big part of me was able to step in and remind me of what had happened the night before. I was able to recall what it felt like when Daddy put me in a diaper, when he changed my clothes, and how it felt for him to sink inside me. The memory was just as strong as the experience, and I could feel myself getting hard in my diaper. The way the lining rubbed against me only made the problem worse.
My pacifier had fallen out at some point in the night and was beside me on the mattress. I almost reached for it to pull it back into my mouth. It would soothe me, maybe even calm down my desire, but I also didn’t want to do something that felt like a Daddy task.
Instead, I hugged Bowzer as we looked over to the bed where Daddy was still sound asleep. He looked peaceful, with one hand tucked behind his head, the other on his chest.
