“I know 100% more than you do,” I said. “You can’t even remember that his name is Ryan.”

She shrugged again. “Ryan. Brian. He’s got a dick the size of a python. That’s all I need to know.”

Boone choked on his beer.

Mary Ellen’s grin spread. She loved shocking people, but frankly, I couldn’t believe she’d shocked Boone.

“For my lady,” Mary Ellen’s catch-of-the-night said as he arrived back at the table and handed her a margarita.

My cousin picked up her drink and took a deep gulp, then rested her free hand on Ryan/Brian’s chest again. “What do you say we let these two love birds get back to it?”

“Get back to what?” he asked.

“Their fornication ritual,” Mary Ellen said with a sexy look, then lifted up on her tiptoes and kissed him again.

Watching them make out had been slightly uncomfortable before, but it felt positively pornographic when I was watching them with Boone standing inches away from me. Was this giving him ideas? Did he think I was going to kiss him like that? Did he think I was going to sleep with him?

Now they were giving me ideas.

“We’re not fornicating,” I said, as they broke apart, “so there is no ritual.” I shot a glare at Boone so he’d know I meant it.

He only grinned at me.

I picked up the shot glass and downed it.

Chapter Nine

Boone sat on the stool next to me and leaned back in a casual pose. “Tell me about this job you lost.”

I snorted, then reached for the beer. I still had a buzz, but it was wearing off. This shot had tasted stronger than the others, like they’d forgotten to water it down, but I wasn’t ready to deal with reality sober. I guzzled a good third of the beer.

He took several deep gulps of his water, and as I lowered my bottle, my gaze focused on his bobbing Adam’s apple.

Ignoring the warmth spreading through me, I took a swig, then shrugged. “It was a shit job, but it still stings, especially since I got fired because someone else lied about me. But my grandmother wanted me to quit anyway, so I guess she got her wish.”

“What are you gonna do now?”

My head was too messy to consider it. “Hell if I know. But I don’t want to think about that tonight.”

“Fair enough,” he said, then finished off the water and crossed his arms over his broad chest. “Tell me about your cousins.”

He looked sexy as hell in that pose, but I wasn’t about to let him know it. “You met Mary Ellen, and I’m not sure there’s much more to tell. Ava’s just like her.” I took another long pull from my beer.

“What about the one who ran out the door? Selena?”

I set my bottle on the table, but kept my hand wrapped around it. “There’s not much to tell about her either. She’s a lot like Mary Ellen and Ava.”

“Why didn’t she come back when you called her name?”

He’d heard me calling for her? I guess he’d been closer behind me than I’d realized. “I think she has a new man, and when she’s got a new man, she doesn’t have time for the rest of us.”

I didn’t like thinking about Selena because it made me think about my visons. I knew I should let her live her life and deal with the consequences, but I wasn’t sure I could live with myself if something happened to her. Then again, if my visions came true, I wouldn’t be living at all.

He turned serious. “Why do you look upset?”

“Do I?” I asked, trying to lighten my tone, then took a sip of my drink to distract him.

He waited until I lowered my bottle before he asked, “Who was she with?”
